One last thing I'd like to add... There a piece of advice I've heard from an older entertainer, but I think can apply essentially across any form of
media.
When writing children's books you gotta consider you are producing a product that's going into homes, and that will have some impact on its readers,
adults included. Would you feel comfortable having your material in the hands of your kids or closest child relatives?
