NOTAM at Beale AFB tonight

Thanks Zaph, I thought that was the case as I recall seeing those many times before. The pattern was especially full each night up here when the MC-12 mission was in full swing.

I'm always mindful of anything exciting that comes in or out but it's very rare that something noteworthy happens out there. I'm actually half hopeful that maybe one of these new recon programs might make its way to Beale to fill the gap left so many years ago when the Blackbird left. Since then, the only real excitement was a couple nights in the early 90's when a still unidentifed aircraft approached with an escort of F-117s. That was when Aviation Week was so certain they had found the fabled "Aurora" haha! Nevertheless, I've heard tell from those who worked there during that period about the brown outs and orders to not go outside until given the clear. I always assumed those Blackbird hangars were good for something... Maybe even suitable to house a certain " companion" for a couple nights.

Keep your eyes open. My friend and I (who usually rolls his eyes when I talk about military jets) saw something last night around 01.00 that made no noise, before, and after passing us at a VERY(around 3,00ft AGL) low altitude, going North to Southwest.
Flightradar, albeit being an app that isn't always accurate, showed that only a FedEx plane at the time that was ~6 miles out. After talking about it, my friend could only say,
"Well, it was definitely man made"

Didn't they used to fly the SR-71 and U2 out of Beale?

They still fly the U-2 out of Beale as well as the Global Hawk now.

That pretty impressive. But having experienced the blackbird at Farnborough air show in 86...i wish they had kept one going. I'd give anything to experience it's full engine burn on takeoff again..that was something I will never ever ever forget.

I was lucky enough to cruise by with the lady during touch and go training. So many amazing photos. This is my favorite
