To which I respond: What happened to all the communes of the 60s/70s. You know, all those people who were going to change the world.

We're still here.
Raised our kids (who are now Millennials), and still going to change the world.

Me too.

And I still hope so.

I'm actually more concerned about the GOP's push toward dictatorship.

Clearchannel: they took control of the airways.

NRA: they "forced" that the 2nd amendment be defined - - - as THEY defined it.

The GOP will not compromise on anything. A Dem prez has one choice and that is to use Executive Order.

Bush 291, Obama 228 - - - who's heard the GOP go ballistic over Bush's Executive Orders?

You are expressing my sentiments exactly.

It's a farce...the "democracy" we have in the west.
It's more corrupted, more inefficient, more treasonous and duplicitous than any banana republic run by a junta.

We just have the illusion of choice.

Once you see through the programming and the lies, the utterly ridiculous and meaningless nature of our system is clear to see.

To use a laboured and often used analogy, it really is like the Matrix.
All you are offered in this truth and once you've seen it you can never return to the delusion and warmth of the governments embrace.

My own thread "is democracy a failed system" effectively agrees with you and says that our procedures in the west are no longer fit for purpose.

Ahhh...but didn't 9/11 buy G.W a lot of political capital, and shoulder shrugs of "well it's necessary for public safety, national security, the fight against global jihad", which blinded many to his use of the executive order?

I'm convinced that some people will convince themselves of anything about their ideological opponents to fit their paradigm.

Or they skip the BS and see clarity.

Nope, pretty much fear-mongers.

Window dressing and red herring for the Democrat strategy:

always blame your opposition for your own plans

Sorry?
Did I say you were a 9/11 "conspiracist" anywhere in my comment?

I said that G.W may well have used so many executive orders BECAUSE OF 9/11!!!!!!

Did you just see 9/11 and immediately start rocking backwards and forwards muttering "it was dem Muslimacs what done it"?
I guess if you think jet fuel can turn two 110 story towers to fine dust in 60-90 minutes you aren't paying attention...so I see why you missed the (not remotely) subtlety of my message.

Actually, I don't mean to be rude and I apologise.
