In light of this being an election year with its shady conspirators, back door deals and coin toss victories, I thought it would be appropriate to look at some of the more blatant examples of election fraud in our nation's history.

Good ol' LBJ. The man who many feel was involved in or had foreknowledge of JFK's assassination.

Johnson, who immediately reversed Kennedy's order to withdraw from Vietnam and instead escalated the war.

Soon thereafter he cancelled various government contracts (Kaman Aircraft for example) and instead awarded them to his Texas pals, Bell helicopters (Lawrence Bell), Brown & Root later known as Kellogg Brown & Root (a subsidiary of Halliburton) and LTV aviation all part of the Texas good ol' boys club.

Stealing elections, going to war over lies (Gulf of Tonkin), war profiteering; a fine role model for future Texans, Bush and Cheney, but I digress.

How Johnson Won The Election He'd Lost

A study of Lyndon B. Johnson provides new evidence that the 36th President stole his first election to the United States Senate, in 1948.

Mr. Caro maintains that although ballot fraud was common in the late 1940's in some parts of Texas, the Johnson campaign of 1948 raised it to a new level. Mr. Caro supports his charge with an interview with Luis Salas, an election judge in Jim Wells County who said he acknowledged his role only after all others involved in the theft had died.

On primary night, a Saturday, the first tallies of the Democratic primary showed Johnson trailing his opponent by 20,000 votes. Still unreported, however, were the votes from San Antonio, where Stevenson had defeated Johnson 2 to 1 in the first primary. When those votes finally came in, Johnson had won a stunning victory, carrying San Antonio by 10,000 votes.

For example, he said, Jim Wells County provided an extra 200 votes for Johnson merely by changing the 7 in ''765'' to a 9.

Does this connect up in any way with Clinton stealing the Iowa election?

Iowa's Nightmare Revisited: Was correct winner called?

I had never heard of this.

I'm saddened to hear this but not surprised.

I do believe Clinton could be another "succesful" POTUS as a result of corruption and back-door deals.

Makes me sick

My wife and I were just discussing this and we've pretty much concluded that this election will be pretty much a repeat of the JFK election which Johnson stole for JFK by the same dirty tricks in Texas precincts. You can read something about the 1960 election at: stonezone.com...

You'll note that Mayor Daley of Chicago stole the Illinois election for Kennedy and Johnson engineered a Texas victory for Kennedy so he'd have enough electoral votes to win the election.

As I've noted in another post, the big danger of this election is less about Hilary winning but rather more about how she wins. If, for example, if the election is tight and she gets desperate, the election rigging may become so ham handed as to be near blatant, just as it was in Texas and Illinois in 1960. To the extent that's the case then for a second time in my lifetime we'll see a president elected to the White House who's election is seen by more than 50% of the electorate as illegal and illegitimate. And, that result would be very dangerous in today's US scene with the country as divided as it is against itself. Also, that scenario would contribute to even more diminution of US prestige and power on the world scene and it would weaken the ability of the Federal Government to do much militarily in the event of a global crisis.

I'm becoming ever more concerned this election, regardless of who wins, will prompt a constitutional crisis.
