This is a bid for installing a data link between Nellis and Miramar. Everything else beyond what I posted is classified. The fun part is speculating why these two bases need a dedicated data link. Different military branches, but they both fly.

Main reasons would be some load balancing to take some of the strain off other links or something like drone training where you need a fast link as there is little to no compression of the video stream to save on the delay encoding and decoding at either end.

Several reasons. Joint Simulator training. They have been conducting massive simulated airborne training missions Navy/Marines/AF all tied into a massive simulated environment with shared comms. Lots of data.

The other reason could be for drone piloting for the Marines. Again, massive data feed to have marines fly drones through the AF network.

Remote virtual training is becoming quite popular. They've run simulations with it and said it was amazingly realistic.
