I certainly have not seen ANY of these. I have seen similar, but not quite as striking. One moving one has a newly liberated russian prisoner at Buchenwald angrily pointing his finger at a Nazi guard who had been particularly bad to prisoners.

From prohibition to a letter from Ghandi to Hitler...I have not seen these.

I hope these are photos others haven't seen and I apologize if some don;t like the slide show setup.

The grasshopper one looks pretty real. I mean, what else is he holding? Was doctoring pics that easy then? I can't see any obvious signs of manipulation.

"Capt. Druey P. Parks took an F-94C jet up to 25,000 feet to study the cat’s reaction."

hahahahahahahahaha.

There are some good ones in there.

I was creeped out when I zoomed in on the legless dancer in photo #68.
My hair stood on end.

Did anyone else read ghandi's letter ? If not here it is:

"DEAR FRIEND,

Friends have been urging me to write to you for the sake of humanity. But I have resisted their request, because of the feeling that any letter from me would be an impertinence. Something tells me that I must not calculate and that I must make my appeal for whatever it may be worth.

It is quite clear that you are today the one person in the world who can prevent a war which may reduce humanity to a savage state. Must you pay that price for an object however worthy it may appear to you to be? Will you listen to the appeal of one who has deliberately shunned the method of war not without considerable success? Any way I anticipate your forgiveness, if I have erred in writing to you.

I remain,
Your sincere friend,
M. K. Gandhi "

During this phrase: "Must you pay that price for an object however worthy it may appear to you to be?"

What type of object could he be referring to ? or is it metaphorical ? As in an objective Hitler had in mind ?

The whole thing strikes me as being very odd.

Very cool. I have actually seen several of these but many were new to me.

Thank you for sharing this!

I got to somewhere over 113 and they started repeating so I didn't go much beyond that.

"Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Fuhrer!", would be my guess.

I'm kind of curious as to whether Hitler made any reply.

Ahhh...looking into it a touch, seems there was more than one letter...they all seem similarly obsequious.

koenraadelst.bharatvani.org...

The above article takes the object to be Poland.

Interesting.

Powerful pictures indeed. They capture the on-going human condition very well. Many made me well up a bit and many made me smile.

The space cat was pretty funny and the chimp holding the news paper about his own flight is pretty awesome.

The grass hopper is fake because it couldn't respire at that size most likely a trick of depth perception or a very well done sculpture.

That old telephone tower is simply insane.

Quite a few duplicate images are in the mix too.

I lost it on 17. A Nuclear Family.
'This was before the effects of nuclear radiation from such explosions were publicly understood'

You wouldn't need to manipulate the pic, it could quite easily be a figure from a shop/museum window used as promotional purposes and the photo is using it as a prank.
