Considering satire is about ridicule ... Generally, that does imply some amount of humor.

So, a satire about rape would imply he intended it to be somewhat funny, even if darkly, and that is creepy.

End of that line of discussion.

No. not correct. The entire thread is about Bernie Sanders and is there a reason to not vote for him. I will defend the article as not being a reason to not vote for him.

Thread got a lot of attention, some for, some against, it's been a decent night overall.

Though I do concede to some of the details of the "against" crew - Namely the tax hikes necessary...

I simply have not seen any show how..

Breaking up the big banks
Taking money out of politics
Getting us out of war

Do not... FAR outweigh opinions about the economic future. These 3 factors threaten our lives in a literal way.

The economy will not collapse in 4 years.. Especially if we take ourselves away from war, and start holding businesses accountable and stop tax havens and the like.

Someone needs to pave the way for a better future - Give me a better candidate if you have one, otherwise, I am still (mostly) for Bernie Sanders. I do not 100% agree with him - But he seems more genuine than any other candidate, and with the will of the people behind him, I really think things could get done. Even these things people are saying "doom" about. If the average citizen cares enough ,they will help shape our future. If they don't... We are doomed regardless of who gets in.

Socialism is bad because it then becomes mandatory to participate, like buying health insurance which I won't ever do if it has any connection to Obama. I wasn't fined last year either. I won't be this year as well.

-I don;t think $15/r is unsustainable. Some cities have done it and then people have more money to spend, or at least pay their bills. If an employer can't pay enough for people to pay their reasonable bille, they have no business being in business.

Wow. You would make Mussolini proud.

Yeah, politicians passing laws which increase the employers payout DOUBLE overnight should just be accepted. Nothing to see here, just go broke citizen. Screw your business model...we're here to help!

Most that is paid out in wages is tax deductible.

Mussolini? I don;t get the comparison.

I give up. This is becoming a complete waste of my time and I have work to do.

ON MY BUSINESS....that I run...FROM HOME...

You should try it some time

Funny how you talk about how this thread makes you feel like you're on drugs.

Maybe you should try it some time

Yeah, I'm not a comedian. I know.

I saw a comment regarding "taxing someone $7k who makes $18k," and I spit out my coffee.

Someone making $18k a year and two/three kids may RECIEVE a $7k (or more) tax return, as opposed to those who make say $98k recieving the same in our current tax system, but the dude making $18k probably doesn't pay # compared to the dude making $98k, and so on and so forth.

Hence why corps enjoy AVOIDING this sham altogether - why people support this is beyond me - and lobbying for legislation such as ALEC/TPP, and have stored potential tens of trillions in other provinces not legally bound by our tax system.

I mean, that's a massive problem right there. And centralized/privatized monetary systems, such as The Federal Reserve.

The political hit piece on Sanders is creepy, no doubt. Quite an odd approach to satire if you ask me, but let's have some consistency. As opposed to being a world-class criminal or exclaiming one can murder an innocent in the streets, that's pretty light.

Yes... 4 more years of stifled growth and record tax collection.. just what america ordered.

I bet if half the people who cried for socialism ran a business, they'd wise up.

I personally believe small businesses should be very well supported. Taxed less than big business, very low interest loans, etc. I think we need 100x more small businesses, and /100 large ones.

As much as I enjoy memes, using them as well as FB posts aren't the "best" means of information.

I mean, I would never use a meme or a FB post on an accredited paper or for a job presentation.

There is no "taking of people's income," that same hyperbole exists in the form of "their taking our guns," it's non-sense.

A family's freedom to choose where they send their children to school? What?

Where is this dude's outrage to the public schools in Detroit that have no heating/AC and windows, are infested with bugs, and have an abysmal teacher to student ratio?

As for healthcare, I'm against the privatization yet I'd hardly want the government's involvement. However, if we can bring some of the trillions stored away from the American tax system back home, I would have no quarrel with that being used to better certain aspects of our society as opposed to increasing the bottom line of some corporation who pay their worker a wage in which they depend on government assistance simply to get by.

You and me both bud, you and me both.

Getting loans is pretty hard as a small business unless you are bringing in stupid high profits and can prove your income. You'd expect tax breaks for new businesses, or smaller businesses that employ small groups of people, nope.

No, I do not define "real" as something that I am biased towards, or that I personally hold as a belief, for the record.

Awaiting your replies!

Why bother? Your so-called 'logic' is useless if you are admitting bias or personally held beliefs.

In other words, you're a lib.

Anything I point out as his attacks on the COTUS, personal liberty, capitalism, his economic ignorance, etc you will refuse to analyze.

Any candidate I name will be rebuffed.

Why did you even bother posting, asking for something that you then admit you won't accept?

I really do support all of Bernie's ideas. It would be freaking awesome if everybody had free healthcare, free education and free housing, especially if it was all quality. But nothing in this life is free, and when it usually is it is crappy (think those hand out bobbles you get at conferences or tech shows, branded pens, USB flash drives etc). His tax proposal is scary, but what is even scarier are peoples brazen support of him and his plans.

Tax Foundation Report

The full report here:
Report

I just don't see how any of his solutions are going to solve any of our problems? These are very antiquated economic policies that we KNOW stifle growth and prosperity, contracting the economy which is already in a weakened state. In nearly EVERY instance where they have been enacted in the past this has proven to be the outcome. In most cases, disaster. Why do we want to enact those policies here? This isn't some new-age train of thought, nobody is blazing any trails, this form of government doesn't work and isn't good for the average citizen.

What amazes me most, is that MOST people who support Bernie Sanders, feel the exact same way that MOST right wing conservatives do. They are pissed off with the way things are and have had enough, it seems like we all feel the same way. I think that is why we are seeing so much support for candidates like Sanders and Trump, they represent the political "outside". It's honestly fascinating to me, all I know is that it will be one hell of an election year.

"But how is this legal plunder to be identified? Quite simply. See if the law takes from some persons what belongs to them and gives it to other persons to whom it does not belong. See if the law benefits one citizen at the expense of another by doing what the citizen himself cannot do without committing a crime."

-Frédéric Bastiat

You always have the option of becoming a criminal and extract your share from others purses without the benefit of law. It is a little more dangerous but, much more honest.

In reference to the Original post,

Why would Bernie Sanders be a bad choice for president. Give one Good Reason. Same Reason I believe that over half the candidates should be disqualified.

Ok Here we go, He is a Legislator.

I am under the personal belief that those who serve in the Legislative branch of government should not make a Lateral Move to the Executive Branch or Judicial, Same for the other two branches. They should not Cross Pollinate. If a person is a sitting Congress Man or Senator it is their duty to perform the task they were elected for not to seek a lateral change of office.

If they wanted to change Tracks then IMHO they need a 4 year break in a non government position between terms to prevent Conflicts of Interest. Or issues with abandonment of Duty.

Call me Picky but I think those in Legislation should never be able to Pass Judgement (Writing laws from the Bench) or should never be in position to enforce passed legislation or Selectively ignoring laws they did not agree with that were passed.

The separation of Powers was to prevent any one branch from gaining control. Since about 1976 I been watching the lines of that separation diminishing picking up speed until we have the mess we have today.

I would take this a step further if a person is a Sitting Governor then they should finish their term before even attempting a higher office.

Bernie Falls Square deep in this Category and above all else he should not be elected no matter his ideology, every other congressman we have had in the OOP has been a Disaster and every Sitting Governor has been the same A Disaster.

In Short "Finish the Job we elected you for first, and take a powder before trying for something else."
