Unable to swap out avatars

So I have been trying to change my avatar for like at least a week now and I am not able to swap out my avatar no matter what. I replace the existing code with the would be new could and hit submit and nothing. Is anyone else having this problem and if so how do I resolve it? I really hate making a thread for this but I'm at the point of frustration which I don't deal well with so anyone that could help would be much appreciated, thanks for your time.

You don't swap them out or paste in any code....you just click the little person above picture and it replaces automagically. No "submitting".
