Why doesn't this drone video have terrible quality? I am sure the FBI could afford way higher quality drones and cameras(they have some that can use IR). Yet they provide us with crap quality video with difficult the wrong date on it and 25 minutes missing.

They have audio too.

Looks like this may be an assassination.

The video was taken by a camera from a helicopter. I'm not sure where you are getting drone from but if this were taken from a drone, a drone can hover in one location better than a helicopter which usually needs to make a sweeping pattern over the area of coverage.


I don't know where the first 25 minutes of video is. Perhaps there was 25 minutes of the helicopter flying to the scene of the incident. Im not sure that helicopters are just flying around waiting on something to happen.

This helicopter had pretty good quality and audio.



This one had good quality and is zoomed up. Multiple cops and they did not have to execute the suspect in cold blood.

we really don't know how long they were monitoring them so who knows how much footage there is. the time that you see is UTC the event happened at 4:25 local. It matches.

I think they murdered this guy and released a fake choreographed scenario to the public.

Oh, he was murdered alright and as far as "a fake choreographed scenario" it wasn't faked but it was "choreographed"

Is this the lightning round? Just because you ask more than once doesn't mean I'm going to have an answer. Again, I don't know where the first 25 minutes are. As I said there is a possibility the video that was released started when the helicopter/plane joined the pursuit and the FBI deemed that we didn't need to watch 25 minutes of snow and trees?

As for his coat it appears that his coat is not zipped and he opens his coat after exiting the vehicle.

The dashcam video if it exists is in the hands of federal authorities no doubt.

Since all we have to go on is speculation i would go with that if the listed questions of yours were answered it would incriminate law enforcement ....

yea you would think there would be higher quality video. Could be it was downscaled just enough to make it as controversial as it is. that audio is not from the plane. I'm not trying to argue, just point out a few things..

What I am saying is that the low quality,removal of the first 25 minutes,lack of audio may have been deliberate.

Why aren't the rest of the videos in terrible quality zoomed out?

I question the low quality also. The 25 minutes on the clock I explained already. Lack of audio is most definitely deliberate. But the plane didn't have it to begin with. The only audio I've heard of even existing is from Shawna's phone or camera but it was taken. she was in the truck

I was thinking switching video with a doctored video to mislead the public.

I think they just released a blurry low res version(without audio) that makes it hard to know what they did.

The longer version is incriminating. They could have just arrested them at anytime.

This looks like a planned execution.

I agree or maybe used hardware that was limited. hmmm, now I'm wondering exactly what kind of plane it was and how they are outfitted. but, anyway that particular video most likely doesn't have audio because there is no mic on the plane.

I think the answer to your and many others question about why there hasn't been additional video or audio released. To quote the FBI agent in charge,

FBI agents and Oregon State Police troopers were involved in this operation. During this operation, OSP troopers utilized deadly force due to their proximity to LaVoy Finicum as the situation unfolded. Because of this, the Deschutes County Major Incident Team is conducting the outside review of the shooting per Oregon State law and established protocols. Because of that on-going investigation, I will not be able to answer every question you have... but hopefully we will give the public some clarity as to what occurred.

It appears that Oregon state law stipulates that when federal authorities are involved in an operation of this nature that the local authorities have the lead in conducting the investigation.

This would mean that just like any other ongoing investigation there can be very little information released because it could compromise the investigation.

As I have stated in other threads that the only reason that we have the video that we do have is because of all the different stories coming out about Finicum being murdered by police while on his knees and hands in the air. They had to release something to keep protesters from rioting or worse. Smart move on the authorities part if you ask me and it is unlikely we will see much more evidence until the investigation is complete.

My first impression when I saw the FBI video was that the shooter was putting his own guys in danger by shooting TOWARD them! From the time I was seven years-old and taught to handle firearms, it was always impressed upon me that the FIRST thing to do was to make sure of a clear field of fire.

Yes! That's what I've been saying that the officers were put in danger too!

The camera is specifically aimed at Levoy's truck, not the jeep in which Facebook Boy was riding. ( My opinion: They're not going to shoot their own agent, Facebook Boy because he has to be released and tell the Feds's story.)

As if Facebook Boy doesn't look bad enough in all this. I have wondered if he wouldn't have been taken to Portland with the rest if it weren't for Victoria Sharp. They had to release her (dumped her at a Safeway!!!) and probably knew she'd talk to somebody, so they had to release Facebook Boy to make that video and get it up as soon as possible to poison the well so to speak.

Particularly interesting is his assertion that blocking the roadway is illegal and creates danger for all involved. They aren't allowed to do that.

Thank you! Yes!!! That's what I've been trying to say. Those officers manning the roadlock were also put in harm's way, both before and after his vehicle came to a stop. I also firmly believe the roadblock was designed that way to make sure officer's were scared for their life and thus justify the kill. The FBI agent even said he was killed due to "proximity" to the officers, not because of any genuine danger.

We don't know what the officers were yelling... (Note: The women in the vehicle say they could not understand what was being yelled because they were all yelling and shooting. This is why we need the recordings made inside the vehicle.)

I know this is actually a common problem, and I've wondered if this was the case. All I've heard before is that they were told to "surrender," and that means nothing. Weasel words.

I'm told by people who are far better trained in law than am I that in order to impede actions, there must be someone attempting to perform those actions. There was not a single person who was impeded from performing their duties by anyone except their bosses, who told them not to approach the refuge. Were that not so, the names of those who had experienced "impediments" would have been included.

I hadn't thought of that in this case, but I do recall hearing that in another case. I'm trying to remember what it was now, but I can't....
