I am in utter disbelief that this 'Flat-Earth' nonsense has gained some attention

back up your claim with one piece of evidence that the earth is a shere please. bet you cant find any.
and fake pics from nasa dont count

They don't count because?

Oh, yeah. They show that it's not flat lol.

Who's to say that this entire universe is not a Westworld simulation ?

It then explains why Lucifer wants to build a spiritual gate to Heaven outside the universe where he can get revenge upon God.

Even if it is a simulation, which it is not, it's still not flat.

One point you brought up is actually false (from the FE side). Engineers and bridges. Engineers do take into consideration the curvature of the Earth when designing and constructing bridges.

FE people never cease to amaze me with their level of stupidity.

Yes, the tall suspension bridge towers are father apart at the top than they are at the base, every TV program on bridge construction confirms that, so I presume the world is round. the Greek 'scientist' Aretostenese, (I think that is how his name is spelled) proved long ago, that the earth is round, watching a ship leave port and slowly sink below the horizon proves the earth is round? items in orbit around the earth prove its round?

The moon being lit up by the sun proves it.

I've noticed the majority of people believing the world is flat, are religious. Some go as far as to say that the Earth has a dome around it and there is a Firmament. That space is not a Vacuum, but in fact water. And that project fishbowl were efforts trying to break the "dome".

I don't believe the Earth is flat, but it does make you wonder about a few things. Does NASA tell the truth or hide images from the public? I don't think they tell us everything and "edit" photos. One thing I find very interesting is how Astronauts are trained in a facility in water to simulate the vacuum in space. And certain videos of the Astronauts in space you see what looks like bubbles. And now Astronauts have snorkels in their spacesuits? Makes you really wonder if in fact the footage of Astronauts in space is actually just them in the underwater training facility with CGI....

Simple observation.

Somerset smoke stacks can be seen across lake Ontario from multiple locations in the Toronto area.
At Brimley Beach, standing at the 25ft escarpment the smoke stack can be seen on a clear day, the rough distance of said object is 50 miles, at that height and target distance, calculating earths supposed curvature the 600ft tower should be obscured by 600ft of curvature, the land it sits on by 1200ft.

Here is a simple curvature calculator, no matter which one you use they are all based on the same formula.

First, you'll need a topo map of both sides. Add in the ground elevation at both sides. You'll also need to know if the picture was taken above ground level (an issue for the last Toronto flat earth thread - there was a photo stand about 20 feet high). Also the photographer's height.

we already know that the distance between his claimed onjective and vantage point = 40 miles not the 50 he claims - so so much for science and accuracy un a thread that demands absolute rigour in both

Simple observation.

With a powerful telescope you should be able to see hundreds or thousands of miles on a flat earth, why can you only see 50 miles?

I investigated this idea a bit and believe the only actual solid undeniable proof an average person can obtain first hand that the Earth is Not Flat is meteors. The FE theory calls for a 'firmament' and then explains meteors as 'fallen angels' or similar, and clearly that's not true because you can find meteor rocks after they land.

All the other claims are either just misinformed / uninformed or are speculative based on things we cannot readily prove first hand. For example the "Antarctica goes on and on forever and there are other Earth's speculated to be out there somewhere in flatland", or whatever it is. I can't just go there and explore for years to test this...

But one thing that really bothered me about all this was Neil Degrasse's reactions to this. I lost all respect for him as an intellectual because instead of arguing good points and dropping it, he wants to focus on this as an 'easy debate' to insult others and prop himself up as some sort of genius (he's not even close).

I saw videos of Neil sitting there being childish, calling people names and degrading them, thinking he was superior and even cussing. How professional is cussing for a so called 'face of science'? Yeah well he lost all respect I might have had for him over the FE debacle. It's a huge disgrace and dishonorable.

FE theory is absurd but it doesn't call for ad hominem attacks, stick to the points and argue logically.
Thanks.

You don't need years. One weekend is enough. You can travel around Antarctica .. or travel from Sydney to Santiago.

FE is stupid.

Haha haha none of you can explain why people can see objects over any calculated curvature. Yet alone a horizon over the calculated horizon. Wow

You cannot explore all of Antarctica in a weekend. Well, at least I cannot. I'll need a ton of $ to even consider visiting the southern hemisphere much less set foot on the furthest continent to the south...

The FE theory proposes that the Earth is round, but flat. That the edge of the circle is Antartica all the way around the outer edge but that the ice doesn't end in a drop off, but instead just goes on and on for X amount of thousands of miles until you reach another Earth that hasn't discovered us. Sorta like Earth is an oasis in a giant FE of ice.

I realized that you don't need to go there at all anyways because the fact meteors fall from space and are rocks is all the evidence you need to disprove the firmament is impenetrable and suggest that outer space is actually composed of stars and planets.
