Why do people bring up Obama? I don't care about him and I'm well aware of his BS, especially while on the campaign trail. The people who were all doe-eyed over Obama in 08' remind me of Trump supports of 16'.

Actually they remind me of Bernie sanders supporters because they both expect the government to pay for everything.
Bernie sanders supporters are like the Obama supporters of 08 full of hopes dreams and promises that will never happen. The left is amazing in that the most moderate person on the left applying for presidency is a socialist. That bit of information should shine a light on how extreme the left has become.

Only thing it illustrates to me is that the establishment. ..right, left or center, is scared. TRUMP SCARES THEM...I love that.

I am baffled by your implication that a billionaire who was propped up by his parents and has survived by exploiting and taking advantage of the many poor and stupid people underneath him is, is not already part of the establishment. He is establishment to the core, just not normally operating in the guise of a politician...

I like Carson

Didn't he attack his own mom with a hammer? The guy's a sociopath who evolved into a soft-spoken megalomaniac.

There's hardly a person on the Republican ticket I could consider. Mayyyybee Cruz.

If Trump gets the nod, what happened under 0bama will actually wind up smelling like roses.

Dumber and dumber describes the GOP establishment. It's time they made their peace with Trump and began setting the ground work for him to run at the national level. Continued opposition to Trump only makes the GOP look unprofessional and amateur at the National level. Playing these mickey mouse games will only see Hillary Clinton in the White House.

. Or have his supporters never bothered to look into his history.

Trumpeteers aren't the only one with this issue. The Majority of Americans don't bother to look into political history or actions. Its all about the sound bites and who their party endorses.

If it wasn't, than every GOP and DNC supporter would be disgusted with their party nor would they be supporting them.

Trump is getting this recognition albeit highly misguided because of the anger with the two party system and its b$.

Fortunately, people are waking up to B$, unfortunately they changing one B$ for another B$ with trump.

Although, I could withstand him over Rubio and Clinton despite a 50/50 odds that he will go Postal on the world.

there is no hope of change and solutions with this election just like previous ones. The cycle of Oligopoly friendly regulations will continue for the most part.

Bernie Sanders or Rand Paul would be the better risk than the rest, but they have no chance to be selected by the Corporate friendly DNC and GOP tools.

The most interesting thing about trump will be how the GOP will act if and when he wins all individual republican support.

You know what's funny?

Conservatives always got on Obama supporters for supporting an "egomaniac in chief"

Now those very same people are supporting and rallying behind a true egomaniac

I absolutely agree!

I was simply trying to draw the comparison of the average-apathy regarding this. Logical consistency all seems to be non-applicable in politics.

As another poster mentioned, Obama was slammed for "not having experience," yet it just so happens that's one of Trump's prime platforms; "being anti-establishment," and all that jazz.

What I was getting at (I have no love for Obama), is that I personally am of the opinion that Trump is absolutely no different than Obama in the form of "telling people what they want to hear," and gathering support through that means... the very means that so many have thoroughly denounced, yet with Trump; "this time, it'll be different!"

Believe me - it's not Obama as much as it is about how he became President. Political pandering, using "hot-button," emotional issues, using social media as a platform, the media glamorizing and consistently covering them - it just smells too fishy to me.

I couldn't agree more, the people who viewed Obama as their messiah is very similar to those who see Trump as their messiah, their vessel to "Make America Great Again!"

I'm not buying it, especially when it's being sold by a grandiloquent manipulator who constantly belittles China and how "they're slaughtering us," yet he himself has his goods produced in China.

How Conservatives as a whole cannot see through this, the world will never know.

Queue 2020, and I guarantee this same exact debacle will take place - regardless of who gets the nomination in '16.

"We need to get that bum out of there, we need someone who can take care of business," etc etc

"Restore America to Prosperity,"
- Somebody's slogan, that people will rally behind, in 2020
