I didn't start a victim blaming thread...right from the outset I haven't been blaming the migrants. What I have said is that the red doors are not making them targets, it's the area that they live in that is rife with anti-social behaviour and having eggs and stones thrown at your door does not make for a racist attack..it's what thousands of people have to put up with everyday, regardless of their race, colour, religions etc as for the alleged National Front graffiti, I see that type of graffiti everywhere, it's not necessarily targeted at specific people, it's what moronic yobs do..they think it is big and clever, it is not. I actually spent 2 years of my life looking at a swastika painted on a building opposite me, believe me, it was not sprayed on there to racially abuse anyone (being that this area is majority white Scottish) it's just offensive, ugly graffiti...

Yes, everyone does have a right to a peaceful existence, however, complaints to the police and council fall on deaf ears, but as soon as someone claims "race hate crime" the police and councils seem to trip over themselves to do something about it, even though it's exactly the same yobs who threw stones at a non migrant's house the same day (and who probably had the same door colour) and is therefore not race hate crime..it's just crime and it is the migrants themselves who are saying they are victims of race hate crime and accusing their landlords of deliberately putting them in houses that will make them targets...notably you do agree that is nonsense, but ultimately they are victims of the same crimes that everyone else is and I think it is disingenuous to claim it is something it is not as that will not help the overall situation to improve.

The lack of self awareness is staggering. You call people bleeding hearts and whingers then claim they are making it personal.
I know from other topics you make well thought out posts so your frankly baffling obsession with repainting the doors puzzles to the point I assume it is a deliberate misunderstanding.
You agree earlier that people shouldn't have to put up with racism and abuse. That is all this is about. Do they have the right to complain or should they, as the OP seems to believe, just have to put up with it as they are asylum seekers.

You appear to be desperately upset with my rather obvious solution of paint the doors themselves. It almost smacks of a victim mentality wholly dependant on the council to do everything for you.
I prefer personal responsibility than suckling on a socialist teet. Perhaps that's where we differ?

Woah...I have said nothing of the sort, what I have said is the migrants (have never referred to them as asylum seekers in this thread) have been subjected to the same sort of criminal activity that everyone else in the area is..the difference is that when the other residents complain about anti-social behaviour, nothing is done. The migrants then claim it is a race hate crime, targeted at them because of the colour of their doors, and everyone is jumping up and down demanding things are done calling the landlords Nazis and the perps racist, when they probably aren't, they're just yobs..and yes they do need sorting out, but ignoring everyone else's issue with them and claiming that anything directed at migrants is a race hate crime is not actually solving the problem.

I think most readers will understand the points you made, it's just unfortunate that some members seem to think that unless one is wailing in the street dressed in black then you must be a hater.

The ability to think rationally without emotion clouding discussion is badly lacking with some folk.

The funniest bit to me is that the same members were calling us scaremongers' and hateful a few months ago when we pointed out how stupid Merkel was. Look how that turned out.

I think an 'I told you so' is appropriate, just shows the challenges to be had when emotion clouds rational thinking.

Considering this method is used by many holiday companies, concert and festival venues etc and is simply an easy and quick way to identify those who are entitled to be in the premises/event etc, I'm truly staggered. Doubtless when they have to carry ID papers there will be another outrageous comparison to Nazi Germany and their treatment of the Jews.

You really couldn't make it up...Sigh...

On the same media I saw a discussion on David Cameron's latest

idea to take in lone refugee children.

I fail to understand how children on their own could have made

those treks?

The fares on those flimsy boats alone being something between

two and five thousand euros .... and walking hundreds of miles

for a child alone? doesn't make any sense!

Another slant on the *Trojan Horse*? Let the children in only to

find out the rest of the family can now come in on the reason

they have family here.

Exactly and how the heck are they making it to the UK unaccompanied? Considering that has got to involve being loaded onto the back of a lorry or whatever, I'm sure that the younger children could not do that by themselves. Though I suspect you are correct that once the children have been accepted, the parents will follow.

I do have sympathy for those fleeing war zones, and yes, I agree that we should help the most vulnerable, but the situation is quickly getting out of hand and I don't know what it will take to cause a shift in policy that seeks to demonise those in this country, who through no fault of their own have fallen into extreme hardship, and who face cut upon cut to already stretched services, whilst welcoming thousands into the country, and housing and feeding them, and jumping through hoops when they complain about the services they get..and that's not about blaming the migrants that is about saying the system is FUBAR when this is allowed to happen.

Its just getting way beyond a joke now. Ive just commented on another thread about Kent Social Services moving British cbhildren to accommodate refugee children. How the hell can that be OK? Surely anyone can see how utterly wrong this is. These British children are already traumatised its disgusting.

And then a whistleblower has said a lot of these refugee children pretend to be younger than 18 although they have beards. They are then placed with children! Then miraculously once they have asylum they suddenly find out their family's whereabouts and are entitleed to bring them over.

It is just taking the **ss now and our feeble government are to blame. They are there to act in the best interests of the people who put them there. In every other Country they are protesting and still we do nothing why, because anyone who does try and protest against this madness in UK is instantly branded as a thug and far right.

And here we go, within a couple of days of the issue being raised the doors are being repainted...And I cannot believe that the owner of the housing association was asked to appear before a Home Affairs Select committee to explain why all the doors are painted the same colour...wtf..has the world gone mad?

Well hopefully they'll be happy now and they won't have any more issues, because of course the magical painting of doors, wipes out all of the area's other problems..oh wait, now they'll all be targets because they are the ones with the newly painted doors...

ETA just noticed in the picture of the guy painting the doors..look at all of the weeds growing in the foundations of the houses...I would have thought sorting that out would be a greater priority
