suggestion to the site

i hope this is the right place to post this (mods move or delete if necessary). i have been reading tons of posts on this site for a good while now. sometimes i get a wild hair and actually post something or reply to a topic. one thing that i see repeatedly is topics being brought up that have been discussed again and again. sometimes they are the first time that i see them and the topic could be riveting, until i scroll down the comments and 50% of the replies are flaming the poster for not using the search function and forcing them to waste their precious time replying.

why am i bringing this up? it occurred to me that people don't come to this site every day, week, month. maybe it would benefit our newcomers and seldom visitors to have a dug up post weekly that is marked as such. even if there isn't any new information pertaining to the post im sure some people would love to read some old good posts. maybe every week feature an old topic so the veterans can look back and maybe spark up some interesting dialogue and the new bloods can be introduced to some quite thought provoking stuff.

Love this idea. There are some really great old posts but yes digging them up then posting when no one seems interested anymore pushes me from anything but reading.

Try clicking on the little "Top" button. This list the top threads for today, 3 days, 5 days, and something else I think. Is this what you are wanting?

If you want to suggest something, suggest something useful, like an IGNORE button.

I'd like to use it for all the idiotic replies to threads. After a week or so only the quality posts/posters would appear.

that was rude. my ideas aren't valid because they didn't come from your brain? there is a little ignore button. you can find it on your computer. it may look like a circle with a small line segment in it.
