Yep, that's exactly my point.

The lack of experience or preparedness is not my issue at all.

Well the OP has ditched the thread it seems, which is what he did with his one and only other thread. It had thirteen pages of responses to his OP and he only posted three posts including the OP within an hour of initiating it and then never returned. Hmmmm . . .

We'll see I guess. I'm going to watch his profile for awhile to see if he peeks in, or posts on other threads, etc. If he does I think each and every one of us should post a link back to his two threads as a reminder that he should not start a thread unless he is engaged in it. I'll also post something On Topic so as not to break the T & Cs.

ETA: If the OP doesn't wish to post anymore on this topic he should just say so in a post to end the thread.

I don't believe the OP is genuine or serious for one minute...

Yes, I also suspected as much. On the off-chance that he was sincere (a very low chance), my positions on the matter would still stand, however.

But, yes, I agree, the chances of him just writing a bogus topic is very likely, especially considering seentoomuch's information.

I hope the OP was trolling us, he lives in Vancouver, BC and the mountain in that area is called Cypress Mountain.

From his first thread:

I've lived in Vancouver all my life, driving to Seattle is like taking a pi**
my dad visited US, my mom, my sister goes several times a year

And the weather forecast:

Days 0-3 Cypress Mountain Weather Summary:
A heavy fall of snow, heaviest during Sat morning. Becoming milder with moderate rain (total 0.7in) on Sat afternoon. Freeze-thaw conditions (max 37°F on Sat night, min 32°F on Sun night). Mainly near gales.

And people wonder why we are concerned...

There's also Grouse Mtn, and Seymour Mtn. And all the un-named mountains in between. There's no safe mountain to climb around Vancouver in the middle of winter.
At least the bears are hibernating.

You would be well to do by specifying which God you would like to speak with at the top of a mountain. A God of fire and brimstone might be found at the top of a mountain, whereas a God of benevolence and grace might be found within yourself.
