K. Might be a day or two, but I will enjoy it once it gets going. I have my own writings on the subject, but I am not going to use anything but scripture and logic.

I have elephant thick skin when it comes to that. They mostly only get upset when you are showing them scripture that proves you right. Or they mock you. Or go on incessantly about what it "really" means. Usually before they tell you that the bible is strictly literal and means exactly what it says. When you take a position as unorthodox as mine you just get used to it.

This is all so fascinating. Jesus says faith with out good works is dead. Clearly your actions matter. Faith alone being sufficient to save is the result of someone who never knew Jesus teaching an erroneous and unchristlike teaching. This is part of thedo we really need baptism debate. Paul was not familiar with christs teachings so his different ideas are understandable. I stopped trying to listen to all but the teachings of Christ. I don't trust a Pharisee. Saul can't teach you anything in addition to Christ. Jesus didn't beam secret mysteries into his head. He personally taught the Apostles for three years, if I want to learn more about Jesus I read apostolic writings

It's like they went to the same school all their lives with the same teacher who couldn't teach paragraphs

The logic is pretty bad but add the grammar, not worth the effort

The thing is someone might be say paralized and unable to speak or move. The only thing such persons can offer is faith. On the hypothetical that they be judged by faith or works, they cannot be judged by works. Also it would be unjust to give some this state of not needing to work and others being forced to work.

Faith vs works is Pauline doctrine. Faith + works is the only true doctrine of Christ and Paul was trying to corrupt the teachings of Jesus . If not for Paul we wouldn't be having this as a topic

a reply to: Raggedyman I never said anything about justice. You did. I just defined unconditional and what it would mean in regards to love being it. You are the one interjecting all these caveats into unconditional, not me. I'm taking the dictionary definition of unconditional and applying it exactly as written. What this means is that if you want your god to be a "god of justice" as you say, then it is a paradox that the god also love unconditionally.

I agree with your understanding completely. If there is a God as the NT teaches then yes there are conditions. A whole bunch of them as shown in the NT. John 3:16 is written that you have everlasting life with the Father God only if you believe in Jesus. That in itself is a condition and the most referenced.

Thanks. I'm glad that I didn't piss off every religious person with those comments, and some actually understood what I was getting at. I wasn't trying to be antagonistic or anything.
