What does the 2nd amendment state?

More importantly, how do you interpret the 2nd?

Do you think the 2nd gives the right to 'all' American citizens to own firearms, no exceptions?

What about convicted gang members and people who have been convicted of violent crimes? Does the 2nd (in your personal opinion) give them the right to bear arms?

Closing down private sales & gun show loopholes would obviously at least reduce the amount of guns on the black market, without effecting any "law abiding citizens" right to bear arms. Why would any rational person be against that?

I just find it fascinating how blatantly irrational usually seemingly intelligent people can be about this subject.

Maybe the ones moaning are ex felons and don't want anyone taking their guns lol
My question is in a thousand years do any of you expect the constitution to still say anyone can own a gun? At what point do you update things like the constitution or do you want it to stay like it is forever?.

Why shouldn't someone who has paid their debt to society be free to own a gun? If they are such a danger then don't let them out.

If you have paid your debt to society then yes like I said above if you are that much of a threat to society then you should not be freed.

Nothing at the moment seeing they can buy one at a gun show by just lying.
Closing the loophole will stop that way of getting a gun anyhow.

No it won't.

Admit it there is no solution out there that doesn't involve punishing law abiding citizens.

Most guns used in crimes are not bought at shows by criminals.

The gun show one.
Like I said I saw an interview and a seller said all he has to ask for is a drivers license and the seller asking if the buyer is a felon or knows any reason why he should not have a gun.
The buyer can just lie.
I think this will be the main point OB will address.
Do you think everyone buying a gun should have a background check?.

How is a background check going to prevent someone from committing a crime in the future?

I wish i could be there.

I really do.

So I could ask him why he thinks so little of the Bill of Rights.

The second,9th,and 10th, and the 14th amendments.

I ask why people are being denied their RIGHT to due process, and crimes be proven in courts of law.

I would ask him why superflous laws are even necessary after all we have a LAW that says people can't go around shooting someone else.

I'd ask him WHERE the snip he gets off arming Mexican Drug cartels, and terrorist's in the middle east with things even we aren't 'allowed' to own.

I would.

I love to watch him squirm, and LIE through his teeth.

Townhalls is the epitome of a kangaroo court of public opinion.

The last place ANY laws should come from.

Well, that's a given.

If you want to know why we don't trust registration lists of any kind, this should be informative.

Newspaper sparks outrage for publishing names, addresses of gun permit holders

This is also why the federal government can't be trusted to possess the complete medical records of every American which was the very first act associated with the ACA.

Infringement is infringement.

Sure is.

Just like Deny, and Disparage in the 9th.

Just like it says in the 14th amendment where it says NO STATE shall make or enforce ANY law that abridges the life,LIBERTY or property.

The entire Bill of Rights is on the pro second argument.

Shame we have a constitutional 'lawyer' and a Scotus, and a legislative body, and pundits.

IGNORING the hell out of it.
