If you want to keep money out of politics, it means keeping personal assets out of it too.

It sounds like you are being nitpicky because you don't like Trump, because that was an illogical statement.

All campaigning requires money, in ANY country. "Money out of Politics" means removing politicians who are getting paid, although legally, from corporations or people which seem to create a conflict of interest. Many politicians today are millionaires for no other reason than they end up on boards or payrolls of corporations.

In campaigning it would be if a relative no name gets a ton of his campaign money form special interest groups and then when elected just so happens to do whatever they want. Sometimes it is a legit big name politician, but it's usually a nobody.
