Awesome video taken of one traveler casually playing a piano while waiting for his train only to be joined by another and together create some beautiful music for their audience. You might recognize the music, post it if you do!

What a piano is doing in the middle of a Paris train station I do not know. I guess because France?

That was very cool.

And I always say... nobody sits round and plays the Old Joanna any more.

That is beautiful !

And about a free piano on a train station, there is one also on the train station of Nijmegen, the Netherlands. I travel sometimes trough that station and more then often someone is playing it.

Thats how our world should be.

Side note: Unfortunately I can't play, but do enjoy it!

Totally awesome. Star and Flag and all that jazz.

I also wondered why a piano is just laying(lying?) about in a train station but then remembered that here in Las Vegas, in a back hallway to a casino, there was a baby grand just sitting there and a guy was playing Journey's Don't Stop Believing so maybe it's not that strange. Then again, we don't have train stations here either so what do I know.

Every major train station in Paris has its own “À vous de jouer” piano (it literally means: it’s your turn to play): Saint-Lazare, Montparnasse, Austerlitz, Gare de Lyon, Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. The pianos are located near the Transilien (suburban train network) platforms (upper levels), and not at the metro or RER underground levels.

In 2013, a very cool initiative was taken by the SNCF train company (in Paris train stations, but also in other French stations, and I also saw one in Amsterdam during the Spotters weekend!): a piano was installed in the public area where the travellers wait, and it’s accessible to whoever wants to practise.

Very cool!
Thanks!

Looked that song up and I don't know if I agree. The song they're playing reminds of me of the song from Braveheart, although they've added they're own touch to it.

I saw a video about two strangers sharing once. It was not a piano though, it was a cup.

OMG it's the music from Braveheart. I cried so much during that movie. It was just awesome.
