So Putin apparently thinks highly of Trump. Not only is Trump smashing his GOP competition in the polls, but has the endorsement of the P-man who obviously disdains Obama. Not that a foreign leader's opinion means anything.

"Moscow (AFP) - Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday described US Republican presidential hopeful Donald Trump as a talented and outstanding man, welcoming his stance on Russia.

"He is a very outstanding man, unquestionably talented," Putin told journalists after his annual press conference in Moscow.

"It's not up to us to judge his virtue, that is up to US voters, but he is the absolute leader of the presidential race," Putin added.

Putin said Russia is ready to work with the United States no matter who is elected president next year. "We are ready to work with any president chosen by the American people"."

You have to remind that Putin don't have America best interest As a priority, so he may be sayin that trump is a remarkable and talented man to destroy America

I find it close to impossible that Putin could of seriously said that...unless he didn't have USA's interest at heart.

Oh that's right, he probably doesn't.

So much paranoia surrounding Russia, I can't remember the last time they invaded any countries on our borders. In fact, they seem to be doing America's job when it comes to IS.

I think most people are thinking the same thing, whether you hate Trump or love him, he is at least saying it how it is. And that is refreshing. America has many hard choices ahead, and you cannot make everyone happy with the truth. The truth hurts. Putin isnt stupid, and his views on Trump is probably related to what he thinks is best for Himself and Russia, KNowing that If Clinton got elected, it would just be more of the same crap from the Ruling elite in the US.

He just jealous of the hair.
And all the beautiful women he gets.
And they share a common enemy in Rosie O'Donnell.
Putin would be a better American president than trump..
of course putin will make sure he was president for life.
But America would be very strong. Big Rippley biceps strong

A few general comments:

I never forget Putin's oft repeated statement of the goal being to have a multi-polar world instead of a uni-polar world. The U.S. cannot keep going in the direction it was. It would have been self-destruction for sure. Putin/Russia's moves continue to back up this goal as far as I can see.

I got a chuckle out of Vlad's assessment of Donald. Mirth!

The geopolitical landscape is changing in radical ways and we are witness to the unfolding of this new landscape which is forming by the day.

Putin is right.
That does not mean he will be a good president.

Would Trump be any worse than our current Community-Organizer-in-Chief?

No, I doubt it.
Anything will be an improvement over the current joker in chief.

Do you think Russia is strong?

Do you think Putin's policies will make it stronger?

Putin is attempting to rule Russia just as the Romanovs did: directly and personally, short-circuiting the established institutions of government, seeking legitimacy in nationalist myth and support from the Orthodox Church, seeking to rebuild the old Russian empire by re-absorbing Ukraine and other states on Russia's borders. This was precisely the set of policies that destroyed the Tsarist ancien régime.

Read the first chapters of Orlando Figes’s A People’s Tragedy. By the time Putin has done with Russia, that unhappy country will have returned to the Middle Ages from which it has never truly emerged.

Not on our borders, but they certainly invaded the Ukraine...

Doing our job when it comes to ISIS? Seriously? For every ISIS target they hit, they are hitting 5 rebel, anti-Assad targets in addition. Make no mistake, the US goal with ISIS is not destruction. Obama has as much admitted to it. It's containment. We like ISIS where it is, keeping Syria destabilized, making it that much harder for Assad to hold onto power and go through with his pipeline deal with the Russians. Russia is there to protect it's own interests. It just hits ISIS once in a while as a show for the International community (who even though they know he's full of it, kind of hard to call him on it....)
