The interview you sorta remember. Was it a big guy with a white heavy beard? That's the guy in the interview i remember, I think.

To be fair me too. I don't subscribe to the whole sasquatch has a language as purported by the Recordings of the Samurai Chatter "Sierra Sounds Recordings" To me it's just sounds like a 800 pound chimp chattering and vocalizing, and not a language.

I have heard reports about sasquatch mimicking humans to call dogs out beyond the safety of the yard or property.

Congratulations. You just made the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

It could very well have been, now I have a picture of a "big guy with a white heavy beard" in my head but I don't now whether it was just planted there or it is my actual memory.

I'll have to look that up, I haven't heard that before.

Yes I've read similar reports, that is something I could believe. Other animals mimic different things to get their prey, I see no reason why Bigfoot/Yowie/Sasquatch could not have learnt those same behaviours.

Now Im going to be listening out of a night for weird noises lol...

My dad used to get up at 3am to feed the man that raised him's cattle. He said he would hear panthers a lot and that they sounded like a woman screaming. He also said he used to hear a noise similar to "woop woop" and that he would mimic the noise. He said he'd hear it coming from the woods while he was in the field feeding the cattle. That was in the 50's and 60's. About 10 years ago, a man said he saw a Bigfoot and could hear it making woop noises like the ones my dad always heard. Every hair on his body stood up when he heard that man's account of what he heard.

Yes, I only watched some Yowie Toob clips yesterday. Some people who have seen them, say they have an "Electrical burnt" smell, or like burning bakelite..?
Whatever they are, they are intelligent and elusive......I hope we never find them and "Change" them.

Modern people are still finding lost tribes in the Amazon.......
Another interesting creature is the Chinese "Yeren" (their bigfoot) in Shennongjia Forrest, Hubei.
Vietnam also has the "Tah-ree" bigfoot.
Just for interest, there is a Gibbon sized (relative?) monkey in China that has a flat face, very unusual humanish looking, white fur etc......never seen it b4 other than on a tv special about Shennongjia (China tv) recently.

Just goes to show, there are creatures still out there that most of the "World" are not aware of.

I've seen on a documentary, that the term Sasquatch comes from Native Americans and they are only able to be seen when they want to be seen.

Here are the terms as from Indian tribes:

Ba'wis (Tsimshian Indian Bigfoot)
Boqs (Bella Coola Bigfoot)
Bush Indians (Alaskan Athabaskan Bigfoot)
Chiye-Tanka (Sioux Indian Bigfoot)
Choanito/Night People (Wenatchi Indian Bigfoot)
Hairy Man (Yokuts Indian Bigfoot)
Kohuneje (Maidu Indian Bigfoot)
Lariyin (Dogrib Indian Bigfoot)
Lofa (Chickasaw Indian Bigfoot)
Matah Kagmi (Modoc Indian Bigfoot)
Maxemista (Cheyenne Indian Bigfoot)
Na'in (Gwich'in Indian Bigfoot)
Nakani (Dene Indian Bigfoot)
Nant'ina (Tanaina Indian Bigfoot)
Nik'inla'eena' (Koyukon Indian Bigfoot)
Omah (Hupa Indian Bigfoot)
Sasquatch (Coast Salish Indian Bigfoot)
Seeahtlk (Clallam Indian Bigfoot)
Shampe (Choctaw Indian Bigfoot)
Siatco (Chehalis Indian Bigfoot)
Skookum (Chinook Indian Bigfoot)
Ste-ye-hah'mah (Yakama Indian Bigfoot)
Stick Indians (Northwest Coast Bigfeet)
*The Woodsman (Athabaskan Indian Bigfoot)

There was a good account of a guy who lived in the blue mountains of NSW and he claimed the authorities knew about them but chose to steer clear of the controversy around them by denying their existence. The real issue is not if that they are real, the real issue is why would our Governments cover up their existence ?

I think its a case of them not being able to be fit into the narrative of evolution and to have an intelligent ape would also challenge the status quo with the religious crowd.

Why is that? I'm religious and it wouldn't challenge any status quo as far as I'm concerned.

i was at a little kids 7th birthday party at a place called serin dipity a government owned national park that gives people 99 years lease to live on some part of the land they occupy its ne hour north of grafton on the far north coast between yamba and woodburn . Any how I was on the balcony with my mate talking and having a chat about how thick the forest around the property is as he pointed to a spot he just cleared for a fire break I could smell that rotten egg gas smell and shortly after I saw a dark figure run through the bush I looked at him ad said did you see that , he said what the hairy man isaid to him yeah . he looked relieved as I too have seen it , he said he often see's them but it looks like they play hide and seek he also said that at times all of a sudden kangaroo's just bolt through his property not stopping for nothing , as we got back to keeping our eyes back to the children the smell came back and I could see more then one at different parts of the property watching the kids play birthday games . as soon as ilooked directly at the spot they were at the would just duck or blend in to there surroundings . ive seen them in pilliga scrub ive seen them up here on the far north coast numerous times , and I can tell you what I smell them before I see them . at night I stay away from the bush as my house backs on to it basically in evans head however if I go bushwalking through the day I always make sure my gps is on just in case something bad happens as if ican smell them and see them they can see me and ive been told by aboriginal elders that some are good but some will really mess you up if you get to close ,they said to me once you smell that smell just turn and walk the other way , I know there out there and I respect them I'm not the only one as I could put a bout 30 people from this town in front of my computer and they could tell a tale of there own .thanks for your thread a reply to: Kryties

Oh I forgot to mention that they went back to the spot the next day and found the shelter thing it was making. They were too scared to get out of the car the night before!

Australia is a big place, and rare animals like the vampire squirrel or the Saloa are only seen once in a life time. If the yowie exists, i pretty much belive they are nearly extinct.

Very interesting encounter, you should report this to Dean Harrison's yowiehunters.net website.

There was another sighting by a passing motorist of a yowie at Grafton a couple of years ago.

Here's the link: www.dailyexaminer.com.au...

I know of 3 people personally that have had sightings and most people don't report it. I don't think they are particularly rare as these sightings were over several geographic areas, but all within National Parks or State Forests. I don't know anyone who wanders around in these at night. Too many deadly snakes in Australia to be stumbling around in the dark.

Btw, Dean doesn't have a long white beard and he was the one who was shoulder charged. Unless there's another encounter where this happened to someone else as well.

Also of note is that the Yowie descriptions differ from sasquatch descriptions both in size, hairyness and demeanor. The yowie being less hairy, much smaller max 7 foot, and much meaner.

They also say the southern sasquatches reported in the south east US "Skunk apes" are relatively smaller and meaner than the pacific north west sasquatch, although just as hairy.

Sounds to me like the Yowie could be more relic hominid than ape. Especially if it's reportedly picking up human words here and there and "conversing"

Based on my experience, the western US Bigfoot/Sasquatch is some Gigantopithecus genus. Whatever the skunkape in Florida, is a different divergent species. But there are reports of big fellows in that area as well. So who knows.

Over 20 years ago I was travelling from North Queensland down the East Coast of Australia. It was around 1:00am in the morning. I was feeling pretty tired. I was a few kilometres outside of Coonabarabran upper NSW. I pulled over into a quiet off road which was surrounded by bush and trees. It was really quite, very dark. ...Perfect for a sleep. Preparing to sleep I reclined the driver seat, looking up at the amazing stars renown in that area and I drifted of to sleep... Shortly after nodding off my, peaceful sleep was interrupted & the serenity of the area was shattered.... The most terrifying scream/roar/growl (for want of a better descriptive word), came roaring through the silence of the night. My eyes shot open wide and I was immediately awoke and the adrenalin was pumping hard. I started to wind the seat back into position looking out into the darkness. It was pitch black. I could hear something moving maybe 20 to 30 yards off. Still trying to process the unearthly scream I heard seconds earlier I had the overwhelming feeling I was in real danger. I waisted no time started the car and left as quickly as I could. I wasn't going to wait around to find out.
Now I was never really rattled by much and had no problem camping out, familiar with the bush remote locations etc. We have all types of bush creatures that can make un-usual grunts, growls and screams here in Australia, which to an untrained ear may sound a little scary, but the scream I heard was so damn foreign and so dam loud that I knew immediately, I was dealing with something far different from your regular bush animals.
I made my way into town and slept under a street light.
I always had suspected it must have been a Yeti, but it wasn't until the internet had birthed all the information available today that the other stories I have read and heard about confirmed the screaming growl.

interesting. that kinda of peeping on the children behaviour would trouble me. as there is potential it was stalking the kids for a meal. dI'd you ask your friend his impressions of their behaviour. did he think they were just curious of the children, like a female hopeful mother watching the human children out of fascination or longing. basically having motherly curiosities. or maybe a male, hunting for food and a potentially easy meal.

you mentioned he said the roos bolt across his property. fleeing a ambush by one of the Yowie maybe?

yeah from what i can follow, the pacific northwest sasquatch is like a true sasquatch whereas the skunk ape is more like some smaller genus, maybe relic hominid hybrid.

the northwestern ones seem more docile or unthreatened when encountering humans. where as the southern ones are more aggressive with territorial behaviour. bashing foliage as a threat display, mock charges.

both seem to communicate over distances with occasional howls, knocks and rock clacks. and also have a breaking point where they will tolerate humans encroaching their territory. although, the pnw sasquatch seems to have more tolerance. so the above mentioned seems universal in the behaviour to varying degrees.

but the territorial aggressive behaviour of the skunk apes appears to go beyond the simple broken tree trunks or rock throwing associated with the north western ones. they seen more in your face in the south.

so on one corner of the continent you have big timber or mountain apes like gigithopanthis (sp) and in the south eastern opposit corner more like Bush apes with attitude.

makes me wonder how far for each their natural habitat and distribution spread? where do they overlap, and are there occasional hybrids?

I personally think the pacific north west sasquatch uses the continental US mountain ridges for travel. they inhabit Alaska down through the southern Sierra in california. I think they may have used the dense forests of Canada as cover and arc north east through to maine and down into north michigan areas. maybe north New york. and at some point while making that arc across the Canadian wildernes some branched south into the central rockies of colorado.

the southern skunk ape to me seems to have its nexus in the southern swamps and thickets ranging from Florida to Texas border. I think they use waterways and the dense growth along side them as travel ways. following the river's up into Oklahoma and Arkansas on the texas side and up the Mississippi rivers up into the Ohio areas. I think some branched away from the Bush and riverine inclined skunk or southern apes and took to the highlands of the Appalachia and made their way into the north like the Virginias and kentucky. maybe more rugged looking than their relatives still in the south due to mountain life. maybe personality wise half skunk ape half more reserved and curious pnw ape from the north.

it's possible that in at the termination points of the boundary of each types distribution, like in the north Appalachia and in Ohio, there may be some cross over or inter inhabitation of the land by both types.

I dunno, what do you guys think or believe about the distribution of the American continents bigfoots? any sub groups of sasquatch that maybe became isolated from others over the ages and evolved differently enough to be a sub set or just unique to a certain area due to differences in habitat?

what about for the yowie? do you guys think there are different sub species or more than one type of yowie? are the reports homogenous across the cobntinent. do you think they are more hominid or ape. do you think they originated uniquely ilfrom Australia and are different. do you think they could be some vestige of a giant ape that made its way from mainland asia down through south east asia and into noryhern Australia?

lots of questions to ask and things to consider and topics to dissues and converse.

I always figured the skunk ape was just that an ape that escaped the circus. Florida has a couple of circus town where they winter over a few monkeys escaping has a pretty good population going there and a couple of escaped Apes could add to it. Maybe they couldn't find them and didn't ant to scare people by admitting it.

The Tarzan movies lost a few too.

It is commonly thought that there are two (and possibly three) types of yowie. The traditional yowie is known by many aboriginal names but when being specific, is referred to as Doolagahl. The second is much smaller and is known as Junjudee. The smaller version is very interesting, averaging 3 feet tall. Interesting because a previously undiscovered remains known as Homo floresiensis was recently discovered in Indonesia in 2004 - they were 3 feet tall. The Indonesian island of Flores is only 700 km from the Australian coast.

Every Asian country from China right down to Australia has a version of the Yeti/Yowie/Sasquatch... all of them. Really thought provoking, and raises more question than it answers.

If they can talk I WOULD like to do that.
BUT I wouldn't really be up to such travel any more.
I have heard of a big foot female responding with the emotional appearance of pleasure , when a guy waited for her kids to cross the road but NEVER words.

The thing that they have been seen for years and no one as ever shot one ,or hit and killed one with a motor vehicle makes me doubtful of their ''Real Existence'',Bongo whether he had a real experience or has some mental problem etc through no fault of his own ,He does say there were ''lights'' ,what would lights have to do with some wild animal ,in Australia there are the Min Min lights etc which to me both the forest spirits [bigfoots .yowies etc ] to me are demonic manifestations to mislead ,scare people etc ,especially one off sightings of other mythical ,bizarre creatures and ''lights '' which play a part in Hauntings of houses ,forests,i have seen them myself and i believe through that and other experiences they are demonic ,fallen Angel activity

i didn't ask any questions in that way but what I saw was as though they were observing .Further north east to that property there is a place called minyumae it is property that was granted to aboriginals of bundulang nation the brothers that maintain it have told me many stories about small hairy man that are every were on the property they say there more annoying then dangerous . my misses has been spied on through a swag by one at a camp site called jarusalem creek she screamed but by the time I got there there was nothing. whats spinning me out though is one of my aboriginal mates said to me one day drinking that he would love to see a Yowie I replied I thought you said there are hairy men other the property .he said na there small hairy men that stink like rotten gas ,I said to him maybe its a sub species because hairy men the smell all points to one thing Yowie .he just looked at me and said well if they are whats on this property aren't not biger than 5 feet tall . I have heard of different sizes but who knows do we actually hve different sub species here in Australia as every one describes them a bit different to the next ,however every one is generally spot on about the way they smell.thanks for taking time in replying to me I'm sorry I didn't get back sooner but ive had a break away from the computer a reply to: BASSPLYR
