If your novel lends itself to being a screenplay; I would go that route. The entertainment biz is always looking for content.
After your novel is converted, take it to a pitch fest.

With all the disease, famine, and war in the world... you think a thriller story is gonna make it any worse? So it's the books that cause problems? Why don't you whine about domestic terrorism, or political agendas, or what's going on in the middle east if you're so worried about 'the world' like you claim?

NOT EVERY STORY IN THE WORLD IS GOING TO APPEAL TO YOU EXCLUSIVELY, NOBODY CARES ABOUT YOUR OPINION ON THRILLERS, AND YOU DON'T HAVE THE RIGHT TO JUDGE A STORY YOU'VE NEVER EVEN READ.
