Boeing is having to defend the Max 10 decision. The heads of both Air Lease Corp and AerCap have come out with comments that are critical of the
design. Steven Udvar-Hazey said the only reason Boeing went ahead with it is to compete with the A321neo, which has drastically outsold the Max 9.
Round inlets. The NG had to flatten the bottom of the intake for ground clearance. Since the new engine is slightly larger, they raised the nose just
enough to go back to an almost round inlet.
