Get Fallout 4

Fallout sucks though, top down games are boring.

when my 486 can play a real game, I'll be happy.. maybe in 2019.

wait, what?

Top down? Err huh? Not in about 8 years.

Everyone who buys an Xbox One.... should look at the cost to build a gaming PC. Because for than around $150 more than you'd pay on some junk console, you'd have a medium end PC that is 1000X more capable than any console.

PC will forevermore be greater than consoles.

Be jealous. Join the PC master race.

Soon as my wife gets a job I am getting a new PC and waiting to play Fallout 4 until I do.

And you'll be tweaking it, downloading drivers, having conflicts between hardware components, and upgrading it again for half the price of a new console in 2 years when the next gen console is still 5 years away.

For a casual gamer who just wants to turn something on, plop down and play -- console is king.

I don't enjoy getting all technical with my gaming. Its a GAME, I want to spend my time playing it and enjoying it. I don't want to worry about vertex and dynamic lighting, why my frame rates are dropping, or why my sound card isn't working right.

To some, messing around with these things is so ordinary, they don't even remember that they're doing it. Its become so second nature that they're tweaking settings, downloading updates/patches and screwing around with their rig -- they forget that they're doing it constantly.

I went the gaming PC thing for a bit, and its like an addiction. You are constantly chasing the dragon, drooling over the newest cards and hardware, looking at how high you can run the latest games. It becomes a ongoing thing, and eventually when you add it all up -- you've spent more money on all the PC stuff than a new console every 5 years.

This is why I have a PS4 and a Macbook Pro. My time is to valuable to be screwing around wondering if my cable management inside my case is optimal for my cooling fans or something.

Got my PC in 2009, no tweaks, no problems, no upgrading, nothing top end, still plays every game that comes out.

As much as I'm sure you will swear till you are blue in the face that your 'mid range' PC you claim to have purchased in 2009 can play anything current that is released, I find it almost impossible to believe it.

Believe. It's true.

$129 9800gtx+

That's certainly true if you want to go all out with it. Personally, I don't have to have the best GPU or the most RAM or the fastest CPU. I've bought two GPUs over the last three years. My PC is also around seven years old with an upgrade on ram a few years ago and a SSD last year. Even as old as it is, it's still on par or better with an Xbox one. Also, one has to love the PC's ultimate backwards compatibility!

I have a Xbox 360 and Wii U. But I just can't ever see myself giving up on PC gaming.

It's not hard to believe. My rig is as old and I've done a few upgrades over the years. I can play Fall Out 4, Rainbow Six siege, and max out Battlefield 4 and keep 60 fps. No problems at all.

I am a avid gamer I game about the same hours I work in a week.8 hours for the man and about 4-6 hours gaming each and every day! Except weekend weekends are for chores and drinking

Anyone who says the fallout series sucks should sit on a mini nuke.....

How did this post go from talking about an Xbox One to who has the biggest stick like usual when it comes to gaming. It's a game, it's going to play the exact same at 720p than 1440p and up.

SMH to those who say console peasants, because I guarantee my PC that i use solely for rendering videos and software design , not games would make your " superior" PC look peasant status.

^ Ain't that the truth?

I run programs on my computer now that require 12 GB of memory allocation to run high-res topographic renderings. I'm pretty sure the processing power that I need to run that program with the industrial architecture programs would far exceed anything the gaming crowd would use/need.

a reply to: Athetos

I don't plan on using the unit for anything other than games and maybe the occasional app. I have an Oppo BDP-103 Darbee that will handle all of my BluRay's and it'd outperform any PC or gaming console any day of the week when it comes to video processing.

Sony has let me down too far and too wide, and judging by their poor QC on the other A/V products I just can't justify buying from them again. I went through two PS1's, 3 PS2's and almost every single game that I had interest in on the Playstation is now on the Xbox as well. Just about all of the items I own are Windows 10-able too, so the streamline factor was appealing too.

Any rate...I'm leaning either Star Wars or GTA V. Other thoughts?
Also did anyone have any feedback on whether or not Xbox has started to save game data to the account vs. the HDD?

I'm hoping to receive it late next week. Depending if Microsoft still has their sale on games, I might be able to land two extras. Speaking with a friend today - sounds like they did change things up to games being saved to profiles instead of the drive. Whoever thought that up should win all of the monies.

What kind of games are you into?

I've probably bought and played around 70% of the games on Xbone and can give you a reasonable review on most of them.

^ As I've said before, I have a personal thing against Sony. They've yet to make any A/V product that I've found even remotely appealing and of quality. That excludes their ES audio component/speaker line, but we're talking an entirely different level of consumerism - where you drop $35,000 on your home sound system.

Hmmm...I was afraid of that question. I enjoy flight simulators, some RPG's, depends on the flavor. I got into the Tales of games actually pretty good for a while. A co-worker of mine suggested Witcher 3. Thoughts?

Perfectly said.

As mentioned, I have one of these friends and it puzzles me how he can enjoy what he plays. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure he does - but I don't understand it, and looking at what all goes into it - I don't want to understand it.

Far too many other things to do with my time. Got things to read, hikes to make, work to be done, etc.

GTA 5 is going to be backwards compat if you have th e360 version. ALso though you know you can get a free upgrad eto the XB1 version IF you had it on 360.

@ PC MASTER RACIST (lol joke) Not everyone can afford a dedicated COmputer and liek th e ability to actually take their unit with them when they go on vacation. I have a computer and a 360 ans some games just work better on consoles. Each system has its own pluses and minuses. SO dont be a console bigot. Also MODDING is coming to XB1 for fallout(sure not ENBs but fun mods none the less) If it takes off more developers will allow it in the future. leading to even some improvements for the PC master race due to people wanting to make mods for them.

@ top down fallout guy. You do realize that it hasnt been top down since the 90s right?

the only reason ifd get a PS4 is for th ebackwards compat of the PS2 thats it and the blue ray player. Dont EVER use anything that used a credit card with a PS4 because your account info isnt secure.

How is this? What I have been reading so far is that you have to rebuy the Xbox One version even if you did have the 360 version.

Apparently That deal expired it seems. SO unless rockstar and take 2 decide to be charitable(fat chance) youll have to rebuy it until its backwards compat. Eventually it will be there but not unjtil sales for the XB1 version dies down.

As to your saves. X box 360 saves will be on the HD. And really all ive ever seen is saves tied to your name. Until they develop a hash tag editor/save editor for XB1 your saves will b e ir retrivable IF your name gets banned. Not many games store your saves off the unit though. they should be there on the HD too. I suggest you get a Solid state external HD for storage. INstalling fallout 4 on that will signifigantly decreas load times. Same for any game on the XB1.
