Russias loss was a result of violating turkish airspace starting back in october and ignoring warnings to stay out of turkish airspace.

Ahh the typical party line. You have repeated this like what 20 times?

Turkey should cleaned there own house out before pointing fingers.

Nice to see the pro russians getting their talking points from moscow. There is already a thread on the pre planned excuse putin is trying to use.

Pre planned?

I guess you could make that argument since turkey warned russia back in october to stop violating its airspace and what would happen if they continued.

Sure they will be able to fly. They are a NATO member... something putin should consider... O, wait, he already did. Thats why putin is whining and throwing a temper tantrum. He cant do anything else.

Well, Turkey and Russia were Allegedly Friends fighting a common cause and for Turkey to stab Russia in the back with this pre-planned action just isn't cricket mate.

Except Russia wasn't "fighting a common cause" with Turkey. They were bombing Syrian Turkmen not ISIS. The Russians need to get with the program before they can start complaining about being stabbed in the back.

All this over the russians flying over a little piece of land whilst attacking ISIS and other rebels in Syria??

They are bombing the Turkmen who are fighting ISIS. What is the U.S. going to do if they start bombing the Peshmerga, for example?

Ah, You must be one of those gullible people who believe in "Good Terrorists"....The ones that shoot at pilots on parachutes. Those terrorists are only there to overthrow a sovereign country's government so they can share the spoils and turn the country into another Iraq/Libya at the behest of other countries....They are not Syrians fighting a Civil War.

The Turkmen don't have the right to shoot back at those who are attacking them?

And could you please point out any information linking the Turkmen to terrorism?

Agreed .. Erdogan always was a sketchy character .. he should be the last one to talk of air space violations .. I don't think even NATO wants him around with his back stabbing hypocrisy .. It's hard to defend what he did, Obama also distanced himself from this freak, saying the Russian jet was indeed shot in Syrian airspace based on heat signatures ..

National personalities vs cultural personalities. Propaganda being severed from both sides of every party involved. Active ongoing war, with assets in play like oil and religion. It's funny to see how many people think they know what it all means with certainty.

The working system of what's going on is more complex than any technology, or belief system we have created and it takes years of college to claim master of one.

Don't you get tired to copy paste propaganda that you read on yellow journalism that you think is news?

Can you please go search the words of Erdogan in 2012 when a Turkish f4 was downed by syrians forces and quote them?
Can you also please bring a proof that the TRUE flight data are the ones presented by the turkish army and not the russian's one? (No you can't)

I'll tell you what happened. Turkish airplanes were intentionally waiting a pretext to down a russian bomber that was going to flattern turkmen rebels. Rebels = anti-Assad so russian don't need a permit to bomb them, in fact it's legal to bomb them and illegal to provide them weapons. Guess who does what?

Russians are also heavily bombing the oil trucks and this move forced the USA to start bombing them too and this isn't liked by Erdogan's son. Guess who does warn the truck drivers 45 minutes in advance?

Russia and Turkey have tens of billions of projects and economic ties and like a lightning on a sunny day what was a trading partner becomes a rabid dog and get mad for a 3 miles intrusion (assuming they did it at all). Guess who gains from suddenly breaking every economic and military relation between Turkey and Russia?

There is only a certain level of possible dumbness, thinking that this is not a pretext (a 17 second flight and a target hit in foreign territory) is miles beyond that level.
Stop accusing everyone else to be a Putin fan, it's just a matter of not wanting to be ridiculed by supporting the obviously wrong side. There are not many left, one day it may happen to you too.

Putin is going to double down on Turkey

….And next time one of Turkey's planes may go down

News of the conversation came after Russia announced it was planning to strengthen its military base in Syria by installing an air defense system in Syria and vowed to continue airstrikes near Turkey's border.
www.cnbc.com...

Russia has the right to defend its pilots.

Turkey claims they have the right to defend itself

First of all, nobody’s was attacking Turkey that we know off

Secondly, how many times has Turkey violated Syrian air space?

Turkey on the other hand is supporting fighters, mostly well recognized terrorists, who are trying to overthrow a legitimate government that has by UN law asked Russia to help them

The hypocritical US and Turkey don’t have a moral or legal led to stand on

But Turkey moved that border into Syria by five miles all on their own three years ago which is illegal in anyone's eyes. Russia does not cross into Turkey for more than a few seconds if at ALL and its asinine that anyone would see that as a threat. Turkey is just trying to make a zone where ISIS can run to quick and not be bombed so they can sneak back out later. Just look at the way the border is shaped in that area and you will see why it happens if at all.

Turkey did this just to try and drive a wedge between France and Russia, it has not worked.

Turkey is messing with the wrong bull but they desperately want their Ottoman Empire-Caliphate again.

Now Turkey can play with SU-30sm's and S400 missiles if they want to try that BS again. I know every Russian flanker driver in that area is just begging for them to send up F-16s to that area again.

I also feel cheated first exercises of air defense in Israel and airplane in 20 km from the border, then the Su-24 in 200 km or 5 minutes from the US base in turkey I think there be adequate response, and if the jackals continue to bite the bear just take over and tear the a$5 of jackals

I don't know why people keep discussing with this guy xCathdra. His comments are always biased, full of lies, and with an unbearable hate for not only the Russian goverment, but to the Russian people in general.

Not so long ago, he said ISIS had been created by Putin. Needless to say more.

The planes were shot down over Syria, not over Turkey, had they been shot down while in Turkish airspace, Turkey might have had a case, but they weren't. The planes were out of Turkish airspace, before Turkey even got their interceptors off the ground.

They were in Turkish airspace for a whole 17 seconds, and during that time they bombed 0 Turkish structures and shot 0 Turkish people. For which, Turkey effectively declared war on the Russian bear.

Had the planes been shot down in Turkish airspace, then it would have been national defence. Since they were shot down over Syria, in Syrian airspace, it was effectively an act of war. Turkey left their own airspace specifically to attack those planes.

And lets not forget how many times Turkish military violates Greek airspace.

Glasshouse, stones.

I think it violates every war rule, or whatever you call them. My war lingo is not up to par. Hate 'em.

Putin has said today he will not go to war over this incident. I am beyond delighted. When push comes to shove, he can make good decisions, or, at least he has in the case.
