Laquan McDonald - Does the video show his soul leaving his body?

Firstly, let me start by saying that shooting this guy is a tragedy. Even if he did have a knife, the dashcam video doesn't seem to show that any officer was imminent danger or other members of the public - but we will let the courts decide.

Anyway, I was just watching this newly released dashcam video and at the 0:53-0:55 second mark, it almost looks as though the dashcam catches the moment his soul leaves his body. Though I could be wrong and it may be smoke thrown up by additional gunshots?
