The US wishes it that kind of capability. It can monitor only a small fraction of the Earth at one time. You want to see some in fighting? Watch the DoD, CIA and others battle it out over NRO satellite tasking. A know a hot spots like the Sinai normally has dedicated coverage. However. most places you need sell your soul to get a retasking.

Is there coverage for the entire planet, yes, but it cannot be called up in real-time globally. In some areas of the world that are hot spots or where there is known ops there is sure to be coverage but others, like the references in the OP, are true. They are designed with specific parameters and match criteria to return what is needed. Like heat flashes. They are not looking for planes blowing up but when it fits the criteria of a large blast, in an area that is watched, it is found quickly.

Over the Indian Ocean..why can they not pull up that footage and find out what happened to that plane. Because we are not watching 100% of the earth all of the time. Recorded though I would think. There are mediums that are used that are not used in public.

A very close relative worked for Martin Marietta in the 70's and left just before the Lockheed merger. He always told me that the technology we can see revealed in public is 20-30 years old already at least. Technology was controlled and peddled to the public but developed for the military. He explained that as time went on from WW2 with the military industrial complex you would see that gap close where private industry would create things that were better than what the government think tanks could use. What he was describing was similar to DARPA . The developed the GPS predecessor in 1959. 55 years ago. A long time to fine tune something....

Besides, we all carry something that can be tracked. Using something called GPS in our phones...so there is really no need to use cameras. Look at how they have caught almost ANY terror suspect/criminal and it is rarely a picture, but a cell tower hit and triangulation. The US does not need the sky to track you anymore, they use the ground. When they find you, THEN they will use the power that they have but again, not in real time 24/7.

The proof is where is the proof?

Ill bet they have thousands of UFO pics. What about the Thailand planes that went missing ?

What I've heard is that on every single launch of the shuttle they always filled it to the max, no matter what. They never wasted a cubic inch or an ounce of lift capacity.
