So apparently the Egptians want to accept direct roubles from russian tourists and dump the dollar intermediate exchange.(1)
Before the crash Egypt used to receive about three million Russian tourist a year. We're talking about billions here. Am I the only one that thinks the Russian airliner being brought down is not just a coincidence. Most would agree that Saddam was taken down exactly because he wished to drop the Dollar intermediate for oil. Tourism is IMO the same on just a smaller scale.

''Russian and British tourists leaving Egypt would deprive the country of 70 percent of tourist traffic, resulting in a "severe blow" to the industry, which constitutes over 11 percent of Egypt's GDP and brings more than 14 percent of foreign currency earnings to the country’s treasury.'' (2) -oh what a little bomb can do...

It seems to me the Egyptians have been punished.

Are you implying it was interests groups from the US that are responsible for the recent plane crash tragedy in Egypt?

More like one more thorn in the side of Russia. Egypt can take the hit. Tourism dollars don't make it down to the ghetto, anyway. The reasons for the uprising in 2011 in Tahir Square are still there.

Resources to clean up the desert and the outlet for vacationing Russians, another pang for Russia. Like the dropping price of oil, Sanctions, Ukraine and Syria, more sauce for the Western Goose…

yes. Billions of dollars are being printed out of nothing, and should be worth nothing. yet it has value because the worlds uses it. Its the only reason how the US can endlessly spend trillions on warfare and military and still not collapse. The people that control the dollar sadly control the goverment(s). When their position of power is threatened all morals go out of the window.

The US government has been responsible for more than its fair share of bad s# the world over but then again so have the governments of Russia and UK.

What else is going on in the world? Hmmmm... I'm thinking here. Oh, yea Russian military intervention in Syria with the goals of propping up the Assad regime and attacking ISIS.

Nope, that's entirely too obvious so it must be the US government blowing up a civilian airliner to punish Russia and Egypt over their attempts to cut out the dollar as the intermediate exchange currency.

If you actually look on a Map to see where Sharm El-Sheikh sits geographically then look at the surroundings.
1. Egyptian ISIS Bods
2. Palestinian Wannabees
3. Libyan Hornets Nest

That plane sadly was an accident waiting to happen. I just hope they evacuate without further heartache..

First, I´m not sad if there are few russians less in egypt. I´ve met too much of them there. Of course I´m not speaking about the plane crash, that´s horrible of course!

From being there two score times (20+), I can´t see the major population dropping off the dollar. You can see a drift towards euro but dollars are always accepted gladly. As long as they can exchange the money they will take what you have for currency. Paying in egptian pound is always the better option, it scales more (8.2EP = 1 €).

They can shake hands als long as they want the general polulation, as long as dollars are exchangeable at the bank counter, will take what you have.

So what exactly do you think some of the Russian tourists being able to use Rubles would do to the dollar? I can tell you what, nothing. In particular when the dollar is in such high demand in Egypt that it has out paced supply. And what would be the point a damaging Egypt's tourist industry? So they could spend less money on US imports? The US has a 3 billion dollar trade surplus with Egypt, harming its tourism industry would only harm the US.

This is a silly a people who think Libya has anything to with the Dollar. Since Qaddaffi had been talking about switching to a gold dinar since the early 90s, he had never done anything with it, both the Arab League and African Union had rejected the idea and Libya's currency reserves were only 5% gold and 95% Dollars and some Euros. Even the nations that hate the US use the Dollar as a reserve because it is the best option on Earth by far.

Us goverment.. not so much. More like CIA like deepstate. Im sure there are things happening that the president does not know about. Several layers above the presidency that truly hold power. Also this is about Egypt, not Russia. Russia got it fair share of suffering already for going against US interests. Egypt is being punished as it now loses more than 10% of its GDP. The drop of tourism-dollar was just the beginning of a larger bilateral trade agreement between the russia and egypt that excludes the dollar.
this was just the perfect action to weaken ties between possible regional game changer Egypt and Russia. Less Russian money flowing in Egypt> weaker bonds they have to each other...

You're saying dollars should be worth nothing, when all they are is a medium of exhange. (You're not the only one - millions of Americans who don't understand fiat currency or macro-economics feel the same way.) It makes absolutely no sense. The United States of America would command the exact same amount of wealth whether we used bars of precious metals, walnuts, hunks of parmesean cheese, or bitcoin as mediums of exchange.

The tourism part is just the beginning. The dollar wont fall instantly, it will decline gradually, over time. Naturally it is in the US goverments utmost interests to prevent this. You have to see it in a bigger picture. It is also in its sickening interests to prevent Russia to gain more allies in the region. Less Russian money flow to Egypt > weaker ties they have together.
Some trade is nothing compared to the vital importance to the dollar. 3 billion trade surplus... Thats absolutely nothing truly on the true scale of US spending. Iraq war cost more than 2 TRILLION. (and the life of a million iraqis and several thousand US soldiers.) How many Egyptian trade surplus years do you need to afford the Iraq war? 666 years! (no joke)
And what whas the iraq war about? WMD's? Lol. (i think it is fair to say it was about the petrodollar.) You see, The US gov goes really far when protecting its currency.
Can you give any reason why Libya was invaded?

and when this ''medium of exchange'' is threatened, bad stuff happens.
the difference with other currencies is that when for example new rubles or reichsmarks (depression era germany anyone?) are being printed out large scale they lose their value. The dollar is less affected by this because the entire world uses it. Its like a cheatcode for countries.

What does the cost of the war in Iraq have to with some out there idea that the US blew up a Russian jet in Egypt all because Egypt (who can not supply enough dollars to meet its own populations demand) is going to accept Rubels in few places? Most of the worlds economies are backed by US Dollar reserves. They do this because the US has the stability and economy to support the dollar better than any other nation can any other currency. You wreck the dollar you wreck, Europe, Russia, China, Africa, the Americas and most of Asia. Most nations try to keep the dollar high because it means the US buys more. None of this will change in our lifetimes unless the US is hit by a comet. Not only would the US not care if Egypt took Rubels they would encourage them to do so because that is more money flowing out of Russia that is never going back.

No. They keep US$ to trade - not to prop up their economies.
