Michele Bachmann Claims There's Violence In Israel Because Jesus Is 'Coming Soon'

Former Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-Minn.) has an urgent message for Christians everywhere: convert as many people as possible, especially Jews, because Jesus is "coming soon."

“We recognize the shortness of the hour," she said in an interview with right-wing radio host Tony Perkins last week. "That’s why we as a remnant want to be faithful in these days and do what it is that the Holy Spirit is speaking to each one of us, to be faithful in the Kingdom and to help bring in as many as we can -- even among the Jews -- share Jesus Christ with everyone that we possibly can because, again, he’s coming soon."

Bachmann and Perkins, president of the conservative group Family Research Council, taped the interview during their tour of Israel. She shared what she learned from the trip, including her belief that increasing violence in the region suggests that the second coming of Christ is imminent.

"This week really was about biblical prophecy in many ways," she said. "And we’re seeing as events are speeding up, events are speeding up so quickly right now, and we see how relevant the Bible is, and we’re reading our newspaper, at the same time we’re learning about these biblical events, and it’s literally day by day by day, we’re seeing the fulfillment of scripture right in front of our eyes, even while we’re on the ground."

Take head everyone! The reason why there is violence in Israel, according to resident crazy woman Michele Bachmann, is because Jesus is coming soon. It has nothing to do with Israel's antagonistic attitude towards its neighbors or the fact that violence has existed in the Middle East since forever, but because Jesus is coming soon.

I mean after all, "it’s literally day by day by day, we’re seeing the fulfillment of scripture right in front of our eyes." I'm not sure which fulfillment of which scriptures that is though, but we are DEFINITELY fulfilling them.

Seriously, this is one of the things that I tire of from Christianity. The constant telling us that the end is coming soon. Stop worrying about this supposed "end" and actually DO something to try to forestall it! Take some responsibility and stop waiting for some 3rd party to come and save you from all your troubles.

Speaking as a Christian she is more nutter than my turds after a binge on penutbutter and wasabe nuts.

In my expert Christian opinion there is violence in Israel because humans just plain suck and hate each other.

JESUS! You think that's scary? Most far right Christians that support Israel WELCOME Armageddon....as it will (in their eyes) be the second coming of Jesus...or the first coming, for the Jews.

I am not sure why her personal beliefs are still relevant. She isn't running for President and her thoughts on the Middle East don't affect us anymore. Let her believe what she wants.

Thats why Organized Religion is so dangerous.

Blame God for the worlds ills. These people are particularly treacherous because (imo), they are hiding behind the excuse that God (or the devil) made me do it.

Intentionally wreaking havoc, In Gods name. "What who me?", they go as they authorize another trillion for war.

Wolves in Sheep's clothing.

Maybe because she still has some relevance on the national and political stage. If you didn't want to discuss this, you didn't have to enter the thread.

I was questioning the relevance of your thread and I suspect it is more likely you wanted an opportunity to bash Christian beliefs and Israel. Hopefully I am wrong about your motivations, but it seems likely given your history.

Well said! Maybe I'm not as crazy as I first predicted.

Bachmann as a prophet fits in perfectly with the surrealism that has come to typify the American cultural landscape.

Is it any wonder that Fundamentalist have become a source of mockery, ridicule and sarcasm?

If the Earth is alive, has anyone paused for a moment to think of what petroleum truly is? And why Isreal exists?

Oil....is it like "earth blood" with Guia replenishing the supply with her monthly cycle? What's Israel got to do with that!

Jesus has be "coming soon" for over 1500 years, hasn't he? I also thought it said in the Bible that no one will be able to know when that'll happen anyway?

So seeing how she wants to get rid of Judaism by converting Jews then why isn't she being labeled an anti-Semite?

I'll pose a question to your question? Maybe another hint.

What does blood have to do with religious orders?

Mich-cruella-de-vil-Bachmann makes Pat Robertson seem sane.

If these are her personal beliefs, why does she make them public?

When she made them public, the public (we) have the right to comment on them, no?

Is it wrong to demonstrate scorn for ideas you find personally repulsive, irritating, absurd or damaging?

I've never seen you holding back in terms of speaking your mind on politics ... why is religion-made-public any different?

(Honest question.)

I haven't thought about her in years. At some point she passed her relevancy expiration date (in my opinion). Certainly you are free to comment on her, but I don't see you as being as mean-spirited in your posts as the OP. That is why I specifically questioned his intentions on bringing her up.

I suppose I don't give a hoot what Bachmann believes so by all means feel free to comment on her beliefs. I simply don't see the point.
