Light in the sky seen in southern californa and las vegas

So I didn't see it personally, it happened about 20-30 minutes ago. A friend of mine in Long Beach saw a light in the sky. He said it floated there for about 5 minutes before leaving and left a blue glowing cloud that resembled the northern lights. Other people said that they saw something blinking and red come out of the tail of it. People from Long Beach, Huntington Beach, Upland, Vegas all said they saw it and posted pictures on Facebook. Here are some pictures they posted, like I said I didn't see it at all, these aren't my pictures but pictures others took.
