Hi,
I wasn't sure which forum to put this in but this forum looked close.

In case you don't know me I've done a lot of volunteer work on the internet in the past 20 years. I was art director of the Internet Movie Project (now defunct, look at www.archive.org... for imp.org), transcribed 5+ books for Hyperwar, wrote freeware for the people (Editq, Architexture, and more), and more. I'm now working on Distributed Proofreading to turn PDF files into real, rewrapping ebooks (EPUB) at www.pgdp.net....

I'd like to make a free ebook (EPUB) for everyone, that simply contains a bunch of near death experiences that people can read about. If you want to submit your story, reply to this thread. I'll make the ebook, edit for spelling and grammar errors (and not much else), and later post a link to the free ebook, probably from Smashwords. (Smashwords allows free ebooks.)

If you want someone to contact you, put your website address (or a link to social media, LinkedIn, or something similar) at the bottom of the story with these words: "I Give you permission to include my contact address: www.facebook.com/mynde/". Without this text your contact info will NOT be published.

Well if its not against t&cs, I've had 4 so far, that I could think of, first time was when I was 7, pushed in the deep end of a pool and didn't know how to swim, everytime I sunk to the bottom, I pushed up and gasped for air. I did this till I reached the shallow end. The second time, I was 12 or 13, at a place called The Devils Punch Bowl, nearly tumbled off a cliff trying to stop my brother from tumbling, all 4 of us stopped 2 or 3 feet from the cliff. The 3rd time my brother pulled me back just as I stepped off a curb to cross a street, a speeding car missed me by inches. And the last time, I got into a car crash on the 14 freeway, got lucky all around, my family was in the car and a cop car behind us stopped traffic.

When I first read the title, I was thinking of actually dying and thought that a near death experience, LOL.
Well i will have to think about this and perhaps come back with a reply, somewhat a long one. Just the other day I looked at some charts of lake MI. and Huron, pointing out to a friend a few places where I almost died. And then car crashes, airplane crashes, being crushed under a concrete building when it back drafted fighting a fire, so many, I have lost track. The first going back into the 40's falling under a farm wagon and it stopping with the heavy iron banded wheel against my face after the old man got the horses to stop.

Each event is a story I suppose, and yes, I wonder why I got away with keeping my life including disease as an orphan left untreated. Is this what you are interested in.

Would be interesting for others with experience to post, I just for kicks made a list of my close calls and kit came up to 31, not counting the OBE experiences. Hell, I can't remember all of them. Then perhaps most live a sheltered life.

After going to sleep during a brain op, the following vision occurred. i assumed the operation had gone fatal and i had gone to hell.
i posted it and was later contacted by an angel who verified it as Tartarus, or the angel prison.

Hi bulrush,

My near death experience happened in hospital on a stainless streel slab. Long story short I suffered from a pulmanory embolism after suffering a leg injury.

Because of the nature of the injury and time spent getting to the hospital my leg was placed in a canvass like splint due to swelling. After 3 days I hobbled back on crutches and complained of pain in my calf. Doc said I had a blood clot (no previous history family of otherwise). I was put on a thinners med.

Day after my friends picked me up and took me to their house to cheer me up. Well,, I felt somethin move in my leg then through my thigh and past my groin. I started having trouble breathing and went a little pale. They immediately took me back to the hospital. I barely made it cause I couldn't breath.

Into a wheel chair and placed on the slab. My body was fitting from the chest pain. I remember they were administrating morphine and with every attempt at breathing my chest seized and my body jumped. Very painful.

I remember starting to fade out and everything going white and then hearing the nursing staff call out but it was like the talking was muffled and going gobbly gook (poor description). I told myself not to die or give into the pain as I had a wife and 4 children. I saw white, perhaps from the morphine, relaxed but still felt my body convulsing, struggling to breath. Kinda like my lungs were seized. My thoughts were still coherent thinking about my family 600 kilometers away.

Near the end I managed to suck a little air, albeit small amounts quickly and slowly that blank white haze dissapeared. Still painful but I do remember asking the staff there to help me sit up and breath better. Very painful. After sitting up and sucking short breaths I noticed my body still jumping with each intake and still felt the pain in my chest. I was placed in intensive care but that night coughed up copiuos amounts of blood.

The experience, 11 years ago changed my life and damaged my lungs. Doc reckons next episode will kill me. Even muscle pain in my calf muscles freaks me out. If I ever get a clot in my lower leg again. I won't want them to thin my blood out I would want them to amputate below the knee.

I know once you're dead, you're dead but I don't want that painful experience. There was no peace.

Kind regards,

Bally

I drowned as a kid in a creek when a small rapid swept me into a deep area and I could not swim. I knew how to kick off the bottom and I did so a few times then after I had gotten tired I sank and remember sinking for the last time and I took in water and blacked out. I got rescued shortly after I was on land being give chest compressions and I coughed up water and swore off swimming for life. Not 5 minutes later I was back in the water and learned to swim that day.

I was once skiing and fell over and slid towards the end of a cliff, fast. I could see my instructor between me and the valley below and the edge of the cliff.

My head was down on the snow as I slid an I remember thinking "why is he moving out of the way and letting me go over the cliff".

I screamed hysterically but he just looked at me bemused as I slid past and over the cliff. As I put my head up to see what was going to kill me i realised it was not a cliff but a 1 foot (12 inch) carve out of a path that was enough to block the gentle slope all the way to a restaurant, telecabin and large flat area. The valley was a mile away.

Perception isnt a killer, but I thought I had a near death experience.

I had what I believe was a near death experience. I was in hospital and there was a problem with the anaesthetic, I remember going through some sort of dark void .. Time stopped as I knew it..and I felt this sence of timelessness.. All of a sudden I was laying in a grassy field under a big clear blue sky there were small yellow delicate flowers everywhere, I knew it wasn't earth.. I remember thinking that I wanted to lay there forever. A man appeared he was beautiful and he raidated love and care. I felt safe. He was kneeling beside me and he looked into my eyes and said 'you are not meant to be here yet' .. I said 'please let me stay' ... He looked at me in the most loving way and the next thing i knew i was waking up back in the real world ... I felt sad for days because I had a taste of the beyond and it was lovely

Sounds horrible but some people have seen the other side so maybe there is life after death.
