When I first read the title, I was thinking of actually dying and thought that a near death experience, LOL.
Well i will have to think about this and perhaps come back with a reply, somewhat a long one. Just the other day I looked at some charts of lake MI. and Huron, pointing out to a friend a few places where I almost died. And then car crashes, airplane crashes, being crushed under a concrete building when it back drafted fighting a fire, so many, I have lost track. The first going back into the 40's falling under a farm wagon and it stopping with the heavy iron banded wheel against my face after the old man got the horses to stop.
Each event is a story I suppose, and yes, I wonder why I got away with keeping my life including disease as an orphan left untreated. Is this what you are interested in.

I'd like to make a free ebook (EPUB) for everyone, that simply contains a bunch of near death experiences that people can read about. If you want to submit your story, reply to this thread.

Hi bulrush,
My near death experience happened in hospital on a stainless streel slab. Long story short I suffered from a pulmanory embolism after suffering a leg injury.
Because of the nature of the injury and time spent getting to the hospital my leg was placed in a canvass like splint due to swelling. After 3 days I hobbled back on crutches and complained of pain in my calf. Doc said I had a blood clot (no previous history family of otherwise). I was put on a thinners med.
Day after my friends picked me up and took me to their house to cheer me up. Well,, I felt somethin move in my leg then through my thigh and past my groin. I started having trouble breathing and went a little pale. They immediately took me back to the hospital. I barely made it cause I couldn't breath.
Into a wheel chair and placed on the slab. My body was fitting from the chest pain. I remember they were administrating morphine and with every attempt at breathing my chest seized and my body jumped. Very painful.
I remember starting to fade out and everything going white and then hearing the nursing staff call out but it was like the talking was muffled and going gobbly gook (poor description). I told myself not to die or give into the pain as I had a wife and 4 children. I saw white, perhaps from the morphine, relaxed but still felt my body convulsing, struggling to breath. Kinda like my lungs were seized. My thoughts were still coherent thinking about my family 600 kilometers away.
Near the end I managed to suck a little air, albeit small amounts quickly and slowly that blank white haze dissapeared. Still painful but I do remember asking the staff there to help me sit up and breath better. Very painful. After sitting up and sucking short breaths I noticed my body still jumping with each intake and still felt the pain in my chest. I was placed in intensive care but that night coughed up copiuos amounts of blood.
The experience, 11 years ago changed my life and damaged my lungs. Doc reckons next episode will kill me. Even muscle pain in my calf muscles freaks me out. If I ever get a clot in my lower leg again. I won't want them to thin my blood out I would want them to amputate below the knee.
I know once you're dead, you're dead but I don't want that painful experience. There was no peace.
Kind regards,
Bally
