not very likely seeing as how your talking about a difference of millions of years (almost impossible really)
and im sure it is considered

but yeah im going to trust the guy who probably has trouble tying his own shoes

I'm not a dino-denier, nor am I feathered-dino-denier. In fact, I'd say a feathered dinosaur throws a pretty significant monkey wrench into the whole "unguided" aspect of evolutionary theory.

No it doesn't, it just means there was a different path than what was expected 50 years ago....

So a blanket statement that if one believes in the bible then they could not possibly know any other subject.

Billions disagree with you.

Has nothing to do with being a christian. Plenty understand basic scientific concepts

Oh and there you go.

People that do not buy this theory should not be able to teach.

So much blind hate for alternative theorist these days.

The problem with your statement is that creationism is not a viable alternative to the theory of evolution, has zero evidence supporting it and is a fraudulent approach to teaching.

What exactly does the Smithsonian have to do with University of Alberta, in Canada, where the specimen was found? That's who ran this study. The Smithsonian had nothing to do with it. Was finding the link and reading the article that difficult or do you prefer to just express your umbrage towards science based purely on ignorance all the time?

Are you truly convinced we live is a isolated or mutually exclusive world? Acedemia is by far one of the most incestuous of institutions on Multinational scale.

Could you back up that statement, or are you just 'breathing fire'?

What will be interesting is when thry start analyzing the melanosomes to get an idea about the color patterns.

Just in case anyone is still interested in the actual thread topic, the evolutionary linkage between dinosaurs and birds has not depended on members of both kingdoms having feathers but on skeletal development, particularly, I believe, pelvic development.

The new fossil gives us another link: it seems this dinosaur used its skin and feathers to control its body temperature in a way that is identical with modern ostriches.

From the OP link:

The discovery is shedding light on the convergent evolution of these dinosaurs with ostriches and emus relating to thermoregulation and is also tightening the linkages between dinosaurs and modern birds.

It's not as simple as 'birds have feathers, dinosaurs had feathers, so birds evolved from dinosaurs.'

Well if birds didn't evolve from dinosaurs we have an additional problem. The other problem seems to have bypassed most peoples thinking........

1. Where are the ancestors of birds in the fossil record if they didn't evolve from dinosaurs.
2. How come all dinosaurs became extinct and yet small mammals survived the last extinction event?

Seems to me the extinction event killed off all large animals and the small dinosaurs that survived we now call birds.

Simple really.

I only hear this sort of nonsense from people who are butthurt that science has disproven their favorite magical beliefs.

Show me on the doll where the science touched you.

That is an opinion.
The statement was made that someone that believes in creation can not be a teacher.

Still no picture of the fossil?
