And no, it's not pay-to-win garbage.
So anyway, I recently played through both of the Metro games, which were awesome. But once I finished those, I immediately started browsing through the Steam store to find the next thing to play. As it just so happened, I noticed one in the free games section, and for whatever reason, I decided to install it. It looked pretty silly, but it was free, so why not?
Oh god, what have I done...
It's called Clicker Heroes, and it's maddeningly addictive. The first night I installed it, I played it til like 6 in the morning. I've literally had it running 24/7 since installation.
So, what is it? There's monsters. You click them until they die. You get gold. You use gold to level up heroes to do auto-damage to said monsters for you, so you can just sit back and watch if you don't even feel like clicking. More damage, more gold, more more more... And then you get stuck and can't progress any further. So you restart from the beginning, but this time you get stackable bonuses to help you do more damage. Now you can progress just a little further than last time. Eventually, you can summon these "ancients" which give you even more bonuses. More damage, more gold, rinse and repeat.

Here are some articles about it.

Are you one of the 38,000 people playing Clicker Heroes today? That’s an absurd amount of players, making it currently the sixth most played game on Steam.

Is the clicking therapeutic? Is the lure of Steam Achievements really that much? For the love of all that’s holy, please will someone explain why half the planet is playing Clicker Heroes?

Grand Theft Auto V. DOTA 2. The Witcher 3. Those are some of the most played games on Steam right now. And then there’s Clicker Heroes... for some reason.

It’s free-to-play, so there’s no reason not to at least give it a try, which is what I imagine happened here. People tried it, and then they never un-tried it. In case you’re wondering, yes, I am now one of those people. I’ve flicked open the game window probably around 12 times while writing this article. I’m gonna close it soon, though. Probably.

The greatest Free-to-play game that I've seen and played so far is World Of Tanks.

It says that I played over 300 hours now and I keep coming back to it.

The only thing that's a downside is you have to grind ALOT to get anything good. But you can do it all without paying a penny. It's a very simple game but deep down it gets very complicated if you want to be good. Such as how to angle your armor so that you can bounce a shot and not take damage. It is also one of the most played games today, mainly Russia.

Something to think about if you're into tanks. Or the WW2 era.

Sadly I only have an Xbox One so I'm not able to play it. Only PC and PS4.

I wouldn't say pay to win though. Because on WOT I've creamed people who actually pay for the game. Kind of sad really lol.

On topic: thank you op! I'll have to check it out on twitch tonight when I get the chance. Could you explain what type of game it is? Like FPS or something like league of legends?

It's basically just a casual clicker game. It's also playable within an internet browser or on phones.

Does anyone know anything about Roller Tycoon 3 on Steam? My son of 8 is mad on it but wants me to copy lots of mods over to game. The video I watched shows you where to put the mods once they are copied but it surmises you have the game on disc. He is running it through Steam and so the directories/folders aren't the same. Does anyone know whether you can play the game off steam and put it on you desk top. Sorry I don't know an awful lot about how Steam operates only came across it because he wanted this specific game and they were the ones selling it!

If you guys like WoT and War Thunder then you guys ought to check out Robocraft. It's a similar premise to WoT but you get to build your vehicle 100% custom to your liking. It has all kinds of movement parts and stuff to play with.
