Weirdest thing happens right before I go to sleep. Sometimes its really hard for me to sleep especially when I'm excited about something or thinking about things. So last night I just closed my eyes and didn't really think of anything...I felt like I was awake but just with my eyes closed right? But then my body just shooked like something shocked my whole body and then I realized I'm like half awake and half asleep when before the shock I felt like I was fully awake with my eyes closed...like what the hell is up with that? Happens all the time when I'm about to sleep and sometimes when I'm just about to sleep I wake up because of that damn shock and then it takes me another hour to actually sleep. Can someone explain to me what is up with this?

Its just your nerves because your nerves are shutting down and you get the shock.. because your excited you get worked up and when you finally lay down and calm down enough your nerves will settle down and youll get the shock hope that helps

Okay, same thing happens to me all the time. It's nothing to be worried about, for one. It's something that happens when your astral body is working towards separating itself from your physical body, but your mental state isn't quite settled enough to handle it. That's all it is. You're too "on" to let go of your consciousness and that consciousness is what jolts your body. It's nothing more than that and you have nothing to fear.

I find that when I just take fall asleep without going to bed, for example, while laying on the couch or just naturally without any real intention, I usually find it much easier to transition into a conscious state of astral projection - it is almost as if there is a switch or as if there is a pre-programming that determines when we "sleep" or when we "transition" to the dream world.
