It is common sense that police know they are under scrutiny and even doing your job correctly could be used against you. So what are you going to do? You are going to think twice about tangling with the local street thugs for anything except the most serious crimes. It simply isn't worth your career or life. As a result, they are leaving a lot of thugs to roam free which invariable could lead to increased incidents of major crimes. Police tend to get most of these thugs off the street for relatively minor offenses. small amounts of drugs, Gun charges, etc. Guy gets pulled over for speeding and they find an illegal pistol. He now cannot go shoot someone. So when the police stop this low level stuff, the thug may now have the ability to eventually carry out the deed.

Out of control cops that took the law into their own hands, is what made a many of these youngsters thugs in the first place.

So because they are being watched and forced to do their jobs correctly, they have decided to not do their job at all; and this is considered a logical and acceptable course of action?

It just shows just how corrupt and controlling this lot has become, and it is no wonder the people have to fight back against them.

Well said, on top of that lie about it! Aww, their jobs must be so painful now that they are being watched.

So apparently FBI Director Comey is saying that there is an uptick in violence across the country and is blaming it on viral police videos. The White House, notably Obama, disagrees saying that there is no evidence.

That isn't what Obama said when it came to Benghazi, and blamed a video.

Probably a round about play to try to get people to believe video of police are a bad thing. Not going to work.

Prior to My retirement, I wrote up a Grant to get cameras for Patrol Officers. I had secured the cameras; the computers; the software and a contract for upkeep for 18 months. Just the savings on court time would've paid for crap cops really need, (Nunchuks need NOT apply) but folks way smarter than Me didn't think it was "time".. Too bad I didn't have them on video saying that...

It's interesting. When someone identifies a problem with the system and comes up a with a cost effective solution it gets ignored, then the problem blows up in everyone's face and suddenly the higher ups are blaming things on everyone but themselves. Then they eventually make the changes anyways at higher cost.
