Umm... you could, like, google it. It's not hard to find a boat load of work explaining how hammer stones work and were used. You can find pictures
and, if you go to YouTube, video. It's all there, you just gotta take two minutes to type in "hammer stone scoop marks" or even "hammer stone use" or
"hammer stone + anything" and suddenly you get a plethora of information. Additionally, his comments backed up by a couple hundred years of research
and experimentation. Yours are, on the other hand, crazy ass conjecture. Hart is, as is often the case, completely correct.
