Is it ignorant to seek answers to the unorthodox? As we all know that we are chasing questions that are not easily, or can not possibly, be answered in proof.

Is it ignorant to not seek this information? As in not doing so, you are ignoring what is unknown. How can you not want to add to the information stream? How can these question not compel you to search?

Well, Ignorant simply means 'lacking knowledge or awareness in general'. So you're not being by the action of asking or refraining to ask questions. You're only ignorant when you do not have the knowledge of that particular topic. You are most definitely remaining ignorant by not asking questions, though.

Which topic are you referring to?

Ironically, ATS has some policies which kind of force you to remain ignorant on some specific topics, as they are 'no-go' topics and aren't allowed to be talked about.

i think there is a certain level of "too far" you can take it like a 2012 newager or something, but i dont think it is ignorant to seek knowledge of a different nature.

I think it's ignorant to ask a question you already know the answer to.

Is this a religious break free from the mold question?
Good for you. It isn't wrong to want to know everything.

Edit: those that don't want you asking questions are trying to control you.

It's like a lot of situations.

If you have the answer sheet, you fail to take in the lesson.

Instant revelation, or a singularity moment can be very negative to the mind, or ignored completely. Slow and easy wins the race lol.

The info can start to come fast enough as it is , peace in the moment is a very good recipe for contentment. And a good shield to have built.

Many warm wishes for an amazing hike!

Measure what is measurable, and make measurable what is not so.

~Galileo Galilei

You should always seek knowledge that is not known, it is sheer ignorance to deny things that are known and therefore blind you to what could be known. This is a major problem in the world. It's called burying your head in the sand.

Ignorance is defined mearly as the lack of knowledge of a particular subject.

I am certainly ignorant in certain subject matter. Doesnt mean I am stupid.

But to AVOID learning about something isnt ignorance. They call that something else.
