Is The Government Actually Listening To Our Phone Calls & Storing Chunks Of Our Personnel Data?

I think it's safe to assume they're doing whatever they can with the technology they have (and will do more as newer and better tech comes along). Governments that have run across every boundary that's been set for them are not known for their restraint in such things.

Assume the worst and any surprises can only be pleasant ones.
