If there is no more of making of nuclear weapons, just upkeeping them, then is this all these facilities do now days?

Los Alamos still makes new weapons and guidance programs for smart bombs. Thats all I really know of.

Los Alamos national Laboratory (LANL) is involved in tons of different research areas. If you want to know more, why not just go to their website and read up yourself?
