I use to be able to play avi, but after reformatting the computer, I can't seem to get the files to work.

Any ideas on what I can use to play avi files?

Theres a few AVI Codex out there...most widely used are DivX and XviD.

To be safe, get the latest Kazaa Lite MegaCodec Pack, itll install just about every codec youll need.

Read Here

Or perhaps this

Sorry to be so brief, I am a little tired.

Some people reccomend Divx. I do not. Divx is bundled with Gain/Gator, a tracking software. Not what I want on my pc.

Thanks for the replies, I'll try these suggestions out tonight when I get home.

On the old Kazaa, there was a tab called theater. For some reason that played all sorts of avi's. Then there was RIAA and Kazzalite was lost forever.

*ps Operating system in use: WinXP
