Weird experience today, just want to share

Today I was working my job as a waiter. I have certain usual customers that you get to know because how frequently they come in. One woman who was pregnant at the same time my wife was last year, (about a 3 month difference), was someone I saw about 2 times a week. Around April she had the baby and stopped coming in for a few months. Throughout her pregnancy we used to chat, nothing major. However, one think we used to laugh about was I waiting til my child to be born to know the sex. She knew she was having a boy. We joked about it because we both had boys the same age, 3 & 1/2 years old. I wanted a boy for my second, she wanted a girl. She knew she was having a boy and we always laughed about me having a girl. Well, I had a girl and in June she came to the restaurant with her newborn. A boy. I remember it so vividly.
Now the bizarre part. Today she came in again with her toddler and newborn. A girl. When I saw the baby, I was taken aback. I was soo confused. I just went with it. But it has bugged me all day night.
I know she had a boy. Now she has a baby girl. So bizarre.

Anywho. I had to get that out of my system. Anyone experience this before?

I think that's a reference to the Berenstain (yes, I remember it as Berenstein too) bears and the temporal cold wars which are apparently targeting our most insignificant memories.

Your story is weird though, let's hope she didn't give it a sex change.

I'm aware of the Mandela Effect. But it was soo subjective. I though the Mandela Effect was more universal. What would be the reason for a simple acquaintance's child's sex?

Isn't their a condition of being born with both reproductive parts, and having a surgery to only have one?

Maybe you weren't told because it's a family crisis or a condition in which they didn't want to speak to you about because they felt it might've been too personal to discuss

That's totally mind boggling. I'd just wait until she came back in and ask her about the sex of her baby and why it's not a boy anymore? xD

Maybe it's still a boy, and she's dressing him up as a girl.

I think I'm just going to let it go as me misremembering. I have a great memory, so this would be the first time messing up something significant.
