Psychiatry works WITH Psychology. They are related insofar as they deal with people's thinking and behavior, but they are complementary, NOT in competition.

I didn't say any of those things, you're just making it up based on prejudices. Anyway would it (telling mentally ill they are possessed) be so much worse than a psychiatrist telling a mentally ill they got a disease and will have to deal with it the remainder of their lives. Because there are studies which suggests for example a number of those who hear they have schizophrenia kill themselves shortly after.

It's not that hard to come up with an idea. Nobody needs to be told they are possessed. A few specialists would just go about in society and remove spirits whereever they encounter them. Because if it's true it's all about spirits then this would work, without having anyone know about it, there would still be results. Personally I don't believe it's all about spirits or possession, it's the mind contacting another realm and has a difficult time trying to make sense of it all the while confusing the thoughts from the mind and then there are life events which might change someone's thinking for the worse.

Only obvious problem here is funding because they would appear to be doing anything while it is probably very difficult to remove spirits, meaning it might take a lot of time and effort for which they wouldn't get paid.

No big deal...Just run the Exorcism app and then the Soul Cleaner app...then a hard reboot...problem solved.
