What's with the full page ads??

Just recently on this site, I click on a thread, or click on a page even, and I'm confronted with a small rectangular advertisement in the centre of the page on a white background. So, a full page basically, which I have to escape from, then try again.

What's going on, ATS? I understand the need to use ads, and I've always been sort of okay with it. But this is a bridge too far. It's waaaay too intrusive.

Please don't tell me I have to use ad blocker software to navigate on here...

ATS is slowly being bought out by media...and maybe eventually CNN and other political media.

Really annoying me too. It goes to download random apps for me without pressing anything other than trying to read a thread.

Money clearly speaks louder than the supposed things the site stands for.

I keep hearing SRI LANKA most every time I refresh the recent posts!

Are you on mobile or desktop? That shouldn't be happening, can you get a screen shot?

I don't know which is more invasive, the gigantic jeep ads, or the spanish post office ad.

It's almost like trying to navigate the Daily Caller or some such. I have to kill off three or four ads before I can read a bloody thing.

I'll do a screenshot next time it happens and post it here; but it seems to have mysteriously stopped.

Yes I'm getting the same thing, full blank page with a small add in the middle on my desktop.

I've started getting full page ads on my desk top computer when I click on myATS or the live icons. There is no way to x out or silence them, as they have full sound also. So far, it seems to be for AMC with movie trailers but the only way to stop is to x out of ATS, and rinse and repeat this three times or so.

Anyone else with this problem?

There is an "x" in upper right hand corner of every video ad that will close it immediately.

Yeah...that X button ... it does not show up immediately... but ONLY After a suitable DELAY (determined by the AD people) for the hapless viewer to be ASSAULTED by the Ad Porn Crap to be 'burned into the viewers conscious mind'

that pukey, mustard yellow, Jeep Porn Ad... is going to make me not participate until the Ad is terminated ....

You can push an x button before you see it on the screen..

On my laptop due to eyesight I have page enlarged to 150% so I have to endure the damn ad or go to settings and reduce to 110 so I can even see the damn x to close out the add. First 6 threads I opened so far have a full page add three or of the walking dead which is lame and the others so pissed off by going back to settings to reduce page I dont know what they were except one said something about farming.
