I'd say go and Google your question. I am not going to seriously debate this topic with anyone in this thread considering where folk have sourced their "Quotes" from. I am also not a science teacher or here to educate you or anyone else.

A user made a comment about "Computer Generated" Earth Images and I provided two images that had not been Computer Generated.

If you have any further questions, then I suggest you use the following link;

Happy to help with any silly questions, to embarrassed to ask!

This is the highest trending thread in days. Just shows the state of affairs here at ats. People claim to want knowledge share it but deep down all we want is arguements and to belittle the stupid trollers. World changing events are currently happening and yet we are discussing something proven over 300 years ago.

So pictures of a part of earth can have stars and complete pictures can't?

flammadraco: Look at the recent NASA images about a part of earth and the first one you provided. Yours shows the edge of earth as a straight lines.

May I make a suggestion also?

Perhaps process information you actually read. I already know the answer to the question and it was obvious you didn't. You are on ATS making a claim that a picture presented is a photograph of earth from space. Well is it? You brought it here, care to source it?

If you hadn't noticed, I am not a proponent of "flat earth".

Eric Dubay. I remember he used to post here and has a strange fascination that anyone who shakes hands awkwardly or holds their hands in an awkward manor is a mason, and ATS is run by masons. And now apparently he is jumping on the flat Earth bandwagon as well. That level of nuts is nice to have outed when dealing with this type of concept. It puts things in context.

Thanks for the investigation.

I think there is more to the story.

Just who are the trollers?

Why do many humans naturally feel drawn to the fe model in some form?

Why is it necessary to bring an accepted theory into the skunk works in this fashion?

These world changing events do they really matter?

Can you tell me about them?

WTF
Really a secret mason handshake makes others unwanted by you.
That is racist against the world.

Mass immigration, wars, terrorism, dictatorships, mass deception, corporate skull duggery....etc...etc

Yes they do matter...not everyone is fortunate to live in a bubble.

Yes, but it's someone from NASA that answer. While I agree that the stars can be hidden by the light and all the stuff all of you said about that, I stay skeptic of what NASA claims. And it doesn't answer why the first pic of earth contains straight edge and the recents pics aren't.

No what specifically is the trolling thread by a round earther taking away from?

You claimed there were events right now that are world changing.

Is Obama running for potus again

To me it just seems like the sos just a different day

Seriously lets tackle those issues. Leed the way.

What I really see is an attempt to discredit any who do not think as you all do and attempts to lay guilt trips on them for questioning the god of science.

Yea, it must be that. I assure you it has nothing to do with COMMON SENSE.

If I'm correct (could be complete BS) the way we look at our globes and maps is completely wrong. They should be flipped upside down to be technically correct? I thought I read at one point that they were flipped to what they are now for the sole purpose of it just looking better to the eye.

Maps could be flipped upside down, by what makes you think that they should?

Granted, North being at the top of the map is a human construct, but if we all agreed to turn the map upside down and have what we call south at the top of the map, then that would be a human construct as well.

If we historically had all of our globes showing Australia to be in the "upper" hemisphere, we could then be asking "why can't the globe be turned upside down so Canada is in the "upper" hemisphere instead"?

This has been some good stuff to read here. I'm not a flat earther but I can't dismiss it either. Not until someone takes my ass up into outer space damn it!

One thing to keep in mind as to why we can't believe everything that is taught to us.

Why can't you dismiss it? If you think the Earth could possibly be flat, then answer these questions:

- What causes the horizon line of the ocean?
- Why can I see more of the Earth over the horizon when I'm higher up (such as in a plane)?
- If Earth is a disk, the why doesn't gravity greatly vary for a person near the edge of the disk-earth compared to a person near the centerpoint of the disk-earth.
- What causes the day-night cycle?
- Why would other planets be spheres, but the Earth be oh-so-special?

I have no problem with debating people who are open minded or interpret currently accepted things differently with justifiable points. At no point can anyone justify the earth is flat. It is a subject where opinion is irrelevant. It either is or it isn't. And the world IS NOT flat. Every bit of science proves that.

A troller is someone who ignores evidence provided for them multiple times and repeats the same sentences from bogus websites as their own views. They help stimulate the debates but hinder progress.

And their is more to life than Obama. I am not American and care for the world I live in whether it affects me directly or not.

I genuinely have no idea why you are responding in this form

If the Earth were flat, then by using a purely inertial navigation system without corrections for latitude, longitude, and magnetic or true north compass directions, one should be able to depart any point on the earth at a constant velocity, travel for two hours in any direction then turn right 90 degrees, travel two hours, turn right 90, travel two hours, turn 90 and travel two hours and arrive at exact point of departure. Now, obviously this won't work if the area being travelled isn't perfectly flat, i.e. there are mountains along the path, so an airplane is likely the best mode of transportation.

If you zoom in close enough to any shape it can look like a straight line. I apologise I can't help anymore as I take these things as common sense and I am struggling to articulate it in a way that would make it instantly understandable for you. Sorry.

All I would say is don't be too sceptical of Nasa. They may mislead you on alien contact but not sciences that are measurable to any hobbyist / person with a science textbook.

What we don't understand is simplistic to those who have studied it.

For your last question, it can be like in the Enuma Elish. In the story, the moon of Tiamat (or Tiamat itself, I don't remember exactly) got collide with Nibiru. Thus it's the half of one of them that is the earth we live today. Considering the half as in a half sphere, it could be like the image I provided in my first reply here. The low part being earth and the upper being a dome. Earth would not be a disk. For day and night, it can be a sun and a moon rotating around the earth. The air is made of particles, I guess that the farthest you can see, the more the particles blur the view? From the top of a mount or plane, there's less particles to blur the view. And for the first one, maybe an illusion? Well, I'm not 100% flatter, nor baller. I don't know what to believe cause I know how the elitists can hide the most basic things around us.

rossacus: Look at the NASA pictures that seems as zoom as the first one, I see a little inclination. If they can lie for something, they can lie for anything, sorry.

Ok, then what about artificial satellites, such as the Space Station (ISS)?

I can see the ISS pass over my head and go over the horizon, but then what? Where does it go?

For that matter, how in does it stay up there in the first place? Can you define the orbit of the ISS around a flat disk? How does the ISS remain in orbit over the top of a flat disk without falling?
