I cant log in normally, i have to use a proxy. it wont let me create a new account either from my normal ip. i seriously doubt ATS had a good reason to ban my ip because i behave myself well on this forum. so I think it was an accident. can this be fixed?

It's been many years since we banned any IP's, we simply don't do that any more.

What kind of message do you get when you hit the site without a proxy? Perhaps your provider has decided to block access to ATS?

I haven't seen any new accounts from Bernard, did y'all ban his IP?

I miss crazy posters like that. Sorry for being off topic.

It might be your own firewall or anti-virus software. Also sometimes when you download something and don't check you get an anti-virus with it (usually Mcafee, eww). Sometimes your router software goes into hyper-vigilant mode too and starts denying access to sites, that happened to me before.

It can be fixed, but on your end. Its something hung up with you and your settings.

Many possible reasons

network routing problems meaning the data doesn't get to where it should do

faulty invisible proxies used by the isp

ip addresses changed on the ATS side and its waiting for the DNS updates to propagate

They're more the most common things, a screen dump might be useful

Do a TCP traceroute to ATS to find out whats blocking your path.

There have been a few that made me wonder if it was him, or a copycat Bernard.

You may have to reset your network settings...I have to do that sometimes because the router seems to suffer demonic possession from time to time. Alternatively, cursing loudly and throwing things is sometimes effective too

If you are running Windows:

Click start and type "cmd" (without quotes) into the run box.....or swipe left on Win8 and search.

Right click the cmd.exe that appears and run as administrator.

When the command prompt appears, type "ipconfig /flushdns" (without quotes)

That may well solve your problem.

On I'm on my phone responding because although it let me log in through a proxy and create this thread I get a 404 when trying to respond on my comp. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions, I'll try them all and let you know how it goes.

What does the 404 page look like?
