As the season turns, it's time to begin thumping the hood and giving the horn a toot before starting your cars.

I just buried a feral kitten who was run over after trying to get out from under a car outside my home.

What a bummer burying such a small, young and beautiful animal.

Oh the stories I could share about just such devastating events....

Good advice. It's even nastier when one gets stuck in the fan belt.
I'd also check the wheel wells. Something could be perched on top of the tire.

first I heard of such a thing. thats disturbing.

I've spun a cat through the belts. Hell of a way to start the day.
I've also backed over a dog's head. The dog survived, but was always a little "special" afterward.

Great advice! We once had a cat whose tail had to be amputated due to a fan belt. He also had bladder issues afterward too. Now we have free range chickens to worry about. During the day they will get under my minivan to stay out of the sun. I have to honk a few times, and backup v e r y s l o w l y to give them time to get out.
