I think there is a thread on the board some where but "This 1829 article exposes the fact that William E Blackstone (born in 1841) or Theodore Herzl (born in 1860) were not in any way, shape or form – the originators to “gather a large nation” and/or “re-building of the temple“, as the “narrative” goes.

Just the 1829 wording of connecting “Rothschild“, “Jerusalem“,”gather a large nation“, and “re-building of the temple” throws any and all previous held ideas of some sort of “miraculous thing” out the window. Obviously this has been percolating for quite some time.

Finally the author of the above 1829 article, Hezekiah Niles, describes the 1829 time period as “these strange times“. One can only wonder what was really happening back then that somehow was never conveyed in the history books."

Do you really feel okay with just looking the other way? I do understand why you would do this, and I know noone really like to bear the burden of knowing something, and the feeling of helplessness that accompanies it. But if we don't voice ourselves in the here and now, wouldn't we be also preventing future generations from being able to voice themselves?

Many were Muslims living elsewhere, some were Europeans, and I'm sure there were other owners as well. They didn't live there because they weren't willing to work the land, it was after all, a desert for the most part. It was not theft, in any shape fashion or form. ...and no amount of saying that is going to make it so.

Israel didn't exist then. That particular region of the ME was ruled by the Ottoman Empire. Most assuredly, the Ottomans were not Israel.

Those new immigrants lived under Ottoman rule, but were for the most part left alone. Though not always. There were many instances of oppression by the gov't.

The middle to late 19th Century was just chock full of upheaval. In Europe you had Napoleon, the Prussians, various Russian Tsars, not to mention the British Empire. It was a very uncomfortable time to be poor, and not able to get out of the way.

This triggered various instances of immigration not just from Eastern Europe, but from Ireland and Western Europe. This, naturally enough, would include Jews.

In a complete aside, this is when a large part of my family arrived in the United States, though not all of it. The rest arrived before there was a United States.

The way things are heading, is there even a future to inherit? Things like this keeps me awake at night.

Can't change the whole world, just the little part we encounter from day to day. If we behave as human begins we needn't worry ourselves about the bigger picture. When all is said and done, each of us will be responsible for our actions, not the actions of others.

In fact, be glad to witness this epoch in history. We have unprecedented insight and perspective through the Internet. I remember the era before electric light, it was top down one way mind numbing indoctrination, only what we were supposed to know got through.

I much prefer living in the light. as I am sure you do. Thanks for your replies and starting the thread.

I did some research last year and still never came to a conclusion.

Below are some of the results I came across that might give some clues:

The Israeli government is the embodiment of evil in my opinion, they are no better than our own in America. The Israelis today have no link to the Israelite bloodline of biblical times, so to say they deserve the land doesn't really make any sense because they never owned it to begin with. They are impostors and even the bible calls them out. Revelation says something along the lines of "those who call themselves Jews but are not Jews". Maybe John was talking about the current "Jews" of Israel, those who say they deserve to own a piece of land they never had ownership of to begin with.

Not at all. Zionism by definition is the push to assimilate the holy land.

This ideology is ridiculous for anyone who read the New Testament... When the Son of Man is revealed in his glory it will be seen all over (Mthw 24:26-27) and will not be localized in Israel... It is also said that the Kingdom is within (Luke 17:21), another indication that we should not be seeking a particular geographic location.
