That's because Iran has ALWAYS respected Jewish heritage (they despise militant Zionism).

This news may come as a shock to 2 types of folks:

1. Those who have a dose of western propaganditis and think Iran wants to "wipe Israel off the map".
2. Those who are unfamiliar with the difference between Judaism and Zionism.

Bibi and Co are militant Zionists who keep pressing the US for permission to attack Iranian nuclear facilities - this confuses folks because the MSM keeps referring to them as "Jews" - which they also happen to be.

Right because politicians never say one thing and do another right ?

For all intents and purposes that's what Rouhani is.

Now if the 'supreme' leader really felt that way he would not be supplying Hamas rockets to kill the Israeli's.

As such he should be tweeting stuff like, 'Sorry Bibi we won't be funding Hamas, or sending them anymore rockets.'

Then it might be a 'peaceful' new year.

it would be peaceful if Israel wouldn't try to take more and more land since its creation. compared to - pretty much sane and calm - Iran, Israel is a bunch of mad dogs, screaming for war since they got the power.

Apparently not everyone agrees with you bro :

President Bush told the General Assembly in 1991: "To equate Zionism with the intolerable sin of racism is to twist history . . . By repealing this resolution unconditionally, the U.N. will enhance its credibility and serve the cause of peace." We have been urging members to take this step. It is the right step to take, and this is a perfect time to take it.

Apparently , till 1991 the world agreed that Zionism = Racism . but after that they found out that zionism was not equal to racism anymore and zionists have been very good kids in the past years .

reason : they didn't kill enough palestinians

Yeah you're right . Firstly , there is no "Supreme" leader . thats just a word MSM added to his name and stick with it whereas we call him just "rahbar" or leader in Iran . thats just ridiculous .

Secondly , we'll stop arming hamas when Israel stops bombing the shizzam outta civilians .

just to compare , how many civilians have hamas killed ? and what about your beloved Israel ?

no in your favor huh , is it ?

Any gesture of peace and goodwill between Iran and Israel, however small or token people may consider it, is a good thing imho.

Peace.

Any gesture of kindness or goodwill that comes out of Iran is usually dismissed, or is said to be fake. Even when Ahmadinejad tried to build relations with Israel, they were dismissed.

Propaganda my friends.

Well, you have to keep in mind, this was the guy who organised the world holocaust denial conference.

I'm aware. Which is why I feel even a small gesture along those lines is a good thing. It's better than persistence of the opposite extreme at least. Imho.

Which is to say nothing of the sincerity of the sentiment, of course. But one can hope.

Peace.

Somehow some of you people automatically think Iran is friendly and kind to everyone when the Ayatollah is the one who realy rusn the show in Iran. Most of the Islam world hates the jews and Israel. Not gonna change.

Some people realy need to understand what propaganda is.

There are a lot of degrees of nuance and layered opinion between "Iran is still 100% hostile and this is all propaganda" and "Iran is automatically friendly and nice to everyone."

My opinion tends more towards, "It seems probable that this is likely merely a token gesture, but I still prefer it to outright hostility in verbal form, particularly at a time when the whole region seems to be at a tipping point."

It is in my nature to have irrational hope for peace.

Peace.

This is ATS. 50% of members think propaganda means anything that doesn't fit their worldview. 30% think everything is propaganda. The remaining 20% are rational, but they don't post very much.

Yes, no doom porn. And you will probably be the only member who reads it.

Not true. There are many of us who yearn for a time of peace, a time free of worry.

This guy definitely has different things to say than the old president, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He seems to be on a different wavelength than their Ayatollah.
