Doesn't really mean anything other than according to this archaic system they counted using the same symbols as they wrote with, so they would typically form words to follow certain numerical patterns. These words were again used as subtle cross-references and added mystical corpus. It's about as scientific and useful as astrology most of it. There are elements of sense and pattern and system, but it breaks apart as soon as the lights go on. But there are quite a few interesting such cross-references in the Bible, relating to words in sequence of same geometric value.
