Yeah, Syria is becoming another Afghanistan of the 80's - a proxy war between Russian and the US.

At this point I dont think it really matters what kind of leader Assad is because of two things;

1) Putin has vowed to back him

and

2) I don't think anyone can argue that life in Syria today is better in any measurable form than when Assad had total control of the country. The same can be said of most nations the Arab spring fever swept through actually.

So how many of these people will you put up in your house,

I rent so I don't think the real estate agent would be too happy about it, but if it were my place I would seriously consider putting up a granny-flat or something and housing at least one family.

we have high unemployment, homeless people everywhere, sick and disabled people struggling to exist,

Separate problems that, of course, ALSO need to be dealt with. Amazingly, the govt can find 50-odd million dollars to send 4 people to Cam-bloody-bodia - something tells me they can come up with the money in a heartbeat if necessary.

women and gay and lesbian people whom its proven these animals will rape or bash...

Only some of them, who would need to be weeded out. But you can't go around accusing the whole lot of them of doing that, that's generalising and cherry-picking to suit your own argument.

and you want to spend billions on people who never have nor ever will contribute anything to this country

We spent billions blowing them up, I see no reason why we can't find that same money to help those left over after we spent billions blowing them up.

And to say they will never contribute to the country is, again, a massive generalisation with absolutely no proof whatsoever to back it up.

You're just one of those racist bogans found in country pubs (and Mt Druitt) that makes up a whole lot of utter crap and spews it out as if it's true and we're all supposed to believe it "just because".

More garbage from you.

Ford announced they would be leaving Australia under the KRudd government...

You are right about that, Labour screwed us, the liberals screwed us, and anything to do with the greens is just as bad. I truly think it is time for people to stop and grow up, to realise that it does not matter which gang is running the country they are not running it for the you and me.

I'll go with Kryties analogy and just consider you as just one of those racist drunkin bogan bum fools, hanging out at the local pub.

Simply because you have no commonsense, whatsoever! Your first instinct is to call for a civil war and then claim you have bullet waiting for me, simply because I disagree with your warped out psychopathic ideology.

Your whats wrong with this country.... Straight out dude!

Ask yourself what will cost more over time;

Helping an industry that provides jobs, a life and purpose the tens of thousands Australians or the welfare payments and the crime that follows poverty?

Crime works both ways-there is those who steal because they have to and those who steal because they can.

And the end of the day we all will wag the finger at those conglomerates that dance around the tax laws while crying all the way to the bank.

I don't even have an xbox or playstation dude!

I'm just a blue eyed & blonde haired representation of an anti-racist modern day 'true blue Aussie'. I'd much rather spend my spare time driving dirt roads in my 4wd and camping on the river, just kicking back, fishing for some Murray Cod.

You bunch of old timers need to move outta the way and just let us new class of (tolerant) 'true blue Aussie's' decide how Australia is run.

imo, hick ideologies, racism and intolerance are no longer welcome, in our great southern land... Brother!

Rudd and Gillard put more people in detention than Abbott. Over 1,000 died at sea under Rudd and Gillard and we had riots, fires and violence in the detention centres, not to mention spending over 10 billion. When Rudd came to power 4 people I think were in detention, but the NYT propaganda doesn't mention any of that.

But at least under labor... Sarah Hanson Young was allowed to visit the the 'off shore' minimum security prison camps, without having government funded spies observe her every move.

Whats actually happening in these 'off shore' minimum security prisons? That Abbott is so obviously paranoid about Sarah Hanson Young observing?

The ones that the Liberals had closed, but labor had to re-open due to their "open door, red carpet" border protection policy, that resulted in hundreds of illegal boats, over 50,000 illegals and over 1,000 drowned?

Not much, some illegals in them are going home, some committing sexual assault, all can leave any time that they want to.

You missed my point completely.

Abbot point blank refused any more assistance to car manufacturers, saying the industry is unviable and too costly to keep going. The dollar was above parity with the USD at the time.

The factories will start closing soon and the full effect of the job losses will be felt. I read the report on the industry that Abbot used to justify his decision. It claims the Australian job market is dynamic and the people affected will find work easily. That is an outright lie.

Mining is scaling back or closing, here in SA unemployment is already at a record level. Holden leaving will only make it worse and Mr Abbot will find the great majority of them on the Centre link payroll instead.

So, I ask again, what will cost more? Having them on benefits, or subsidising the industry?

At least he has it right with keeping the boats out. Illegal jobless immigrants flooding in will only make it worse.

So you and the NYT are upset that some politician has the balls to not subscribe to the Marxist, multiculturalist agenda, and stem the flood that's threatening to radically disrupt the culture and economy of Europe and the US ????

OK, cool, I got it!

Have you ever bothered to look into how Israel feels about non-Jewish immigration and refugees????

www.mintpressnews.com...

I ask specifically about Israel, because it's very often Jewish politicians who are pushing the most aggressive pro-immigration policies in Western countries, yet look how they behave when it concerns their 'home'. Hmmmmmm

It's also a very strange coincidence that western countries are always getting involved in conflicts with Israel's various neighbors and destabilizing their entire existence. Our involvement in these conflicts quite often is at the behest of Israeli/pro-Israeli politicians and lobbying groups (AIPAC, CFR, JADL, SWC, AJC etc)

Very true! Remember the previous labor Foreign affairs minister said the following......

Foreign Minister Bob Carr's claim that Australia needs to toughen the way it assesses refugee applications because too many asylum-seekers, especially those from Iran, are economic migrants rather than genuine refugees

As for the bleeding hearts and greenies

Nothing wrong with that mate , especially one next to the sea ,especially when you are with your mates listening to the fish getting bigger and bigger . I think you must go to the wrong pubs

commonsense,

Here is my version of commonsense .
1. All refugees must come from established camps in Turkey among others . I believe thats the path Tony is taking .
2. Families first , i am sorry , but if you are a 17-35 year old male in my eyes the risks go up . Besides families first kind of says it all . Also i believe Tony is headed this way .
3. You stay a duel national at best for a yet to be determined time . You screw up , you go back .
4. You frequent a mosque that spews hate , You go back .
5. You tolerate people regardless of religion sexual preference or other .
6. You get the picture
