The problem is: Thinking about humans by categorizing is the simple way. And it leaves open doors for many stupid things the brain tries to do to avoid work.

We are hardwired that way. Brain is lazy. Brain wants no work but play.

IF brain sees a person, THEN brain initiates one of its standard-procedures. (Which are hardly different from our ancestors choices of "fight, f*ck or flee").

You forgot all the religious zealots, or I missed it. I agree you are the problem. If you are part of the human race, no category is off limits. We all have a part to play in this mess we call Earth.

Sounds like you have a problem with opinions expressed in articles on a website. The simple solution would be to... avoid the website? Would it make as much sense to go to a website like Stormfront and then rant about the opinions expressed there? Probably not because you'd recognize that the extreme opinions expressed on that site are representative of a small fraction of the total population but because the conservative media has painted all non-conservatives as rabidly PC, you believe that the opinions from everydayfeminism.com are somehow shared by all "liberals."

I'm not saying there isn't oppression of certain classes, but isn't the victimization getting a little ridiculous these days? And who's leading the charge against the oppression of overweight, gay, trans-gendered, black women? White liberals! Does anybody else see the problem here?

The victimization is getting a little ridiculous indeed; consider how victimized you feel right now because people have opinions that you don't like. Not that their opinions have any real impact on your life aside from how offended they make you feel when you read them. Meanwhile:

So women are universally not as good at their jobs as men? Asians are universally better than whites who are just somehow better at their jobs than blacks and everyone is "just better at their jobs" than hispanics? Strange then that women's wages as a percentage of men's wages have increased drastically from 63% in 1979. Is it because women magically became better workers? If not that, then what?

As for your declaration that "white liberals" are leading the charge against oppression; what are you basing this on? Are you not paying attention? Half the participants in this thread regularly complain about how "racist" and "non-inclusive" BLM is. Seems to me that black folks aren't allowed to complain about disparity without including white folks.

Holy victim card batman!

Just read a website and the extrapolate some bs list and act lIke that is what it said?

The list was a bit ridiculous, but it was the opinions of some not the fact of the matter.

I guess we need the call the PC police to silence then for expressing their thoughts.

Typical attack on education thread...

Education frees the mind from ignorance, can't have people thinking it is a good idea.

Just because some moron accuses me (indirectly of otherwise) of being their problem doesn't mean it is true. The problem with these accusers is they spend most of their time blaming others for their own failures than addressing their own lives and making positive changes.

Personally I don't give any fricks when someone else blames me for their problems and failures. I have my own stuff to deal with and THAT is where I put my energy.

People need to take accountability and ownership for their words and/or their actions. If they believe in one something that others do not, then that's their God given right, but they need to understand not everyone thinks like them nor needs to accept what they are thinking and they need to move on.

As for ignorance within their believe, that's where they need to take accountability and take off the blinders to understand the world around them and not the writing on the walls inside their cave.

After reading this absurd article one of my coworkers posted on FB 10 Ways Well-Meaning White Teachers Bring Racism Into Our Schools I began browsing through some more articles on the website mainly for laughs and while it's no secret....I have some bad news for you..........YOU'RE WRONG, YOU'RE A BAD PERSON, AND YOU'RE THE PROBLEM!!!

Are you a white person? - well then you're creating and sustaining white privilege
Are you a man? - well then you're creating and sustaining women's oppression
Are you skinny? - well then you're creating and sustaining skinny privilege and fat shamming
Are you straight? well then you're creating and sustaining inequality for gay people
Do you identify as the same sex that you were born? well then you're creating and sustaining the oppression of transgenders
Why isn't the world fair and why doesn't it revolve around my personal situation?!?!

So basically unless you're an overweight, gay, trans-gendered, black woman, then YOU'RE the problem!!!

I'm not saying there isn't oppression of certain classes, but isn't the victimization getting a little ridiculous these days? And who's leading the charge against the oppression of overweight, gay, trans-gendered, black women? White liberals! Does anybody else see the problem here?

If you even try to suggest that perhaps the reason someone is not getting paid the same amount as someone else isn't due to them being an overweight, black woman, but perhaps that they're just bad at their job's....people lose their minds!!! You're racist! You're fat shamming! You're oppressing women!!

I even saw a white coworker ask a black coworker to refer to other black people as African Americans when she was telling a story! My black coworker was speechless! That's the world we're living in.

Ok. I feel better now. ]

I checked out the article in your post and read some of the other articles on the site. What an amazing collection of talking points to have ready if I wanted to play the " I'm the victim and you're oppressing me" game!

I'm so tired of the all the articles in the media about how either everybody is wrong based on things you can't change like race or sex or things you do or actions you take. It's my own personal gripe, but for God's sakes, do we really need pieces almost every damn day in the MSM telling us that we're tying our shoe laces wrong or drinking water wrong? Nothing we say or do or ARE anymore is correct.

Thanks hon for that awesome post. Now I feel better!!

I looked at the article and read as much as I could stand. It is, as usual, way over the top. I'll tell you something I've learned that I believe is interesting.

I know quite a number of young, college educated white women from my work place. (we do Federal Regulatory compliance work) They're married; they have children and most have children that are just now entering school for the first time. All but 2 of the 7 I know have chosen to put their kids in private schools. We've discussed this amongst ourselves and I've tried to glean what's going on with them and what I learned surprised me.

They feel alienated from this society. They don't want their kids subjected to the influences of these public school nut job educators. And what's even more surprising to me is that when they discuss the situation they find themselves in with their kids, they honestly don't want their kids interacting with the society at large, i.e., general population. They rarely discuss "race relations" but when they do, its basically an eye roll fest ...
So these liberal social engineers are having an interesting effect on the society at large, but their effects on young white moms came as a surprise to me. And I wouldn't have known it if i hadn't listened in carefully and successfully inserted myself somewhat into their clique. And yes, they do discuss these PC teaching techniques and are entirely repelled by the whole scene.

Great sociological observation.

I think that what you have observed, the extreme PC movement
is far more of a reason we have seen such a rise in
homeschooling than any religious reasons.

My grandchildren are privately schooled in a very non-PC
school. My grandson at 6 is working at the public school
3rd grade level.
His school is highly integrated with
the school being only about 1/3 white and the rest of
the children from all different races with super intelligent
parents who are fed up with the PC public schools and
their lack of interest in education and their overemphasis
on PC behavior.

My granddaughter came home upset one day that she
didn't wear 9 braids to school like the other girls.
She loved their bows and bands and wanted 9 braids.
She even had a girl at school try and braid her hair for
her, but the girl declared that her hair was too slippery
for it and my granddaughter cried (she has white blond fine hair).

There is no apparent racism at their private school,
but there is also no PC nonsense
and no denial of real history and
no tolerance for misbehavior,
and extremely high expectations
for educational achievement.

My children have been looking at public school
when this private school ends (it only goes up through elementary)

and I am sad for the poor education they will most likely
receive along with being taught to be divisive ,
to look through the lens of who do they say I should hate
because I am white and am upper middle class.

This is what I expect even of the very best public
school in America, and my grandchildren will be going
to highly rated schools,

but yet they will be taught
to be divisive and to hate by the PC crowd,
who will
convince them that they must hate others because they
are white and upper middle class,
that it is inborn
and they are that way even if they try not to be.

My only problem with "African-American" is that it's not really a "racial" designation like "black" and "white" are, although it is treated as one.

I'll bet you anything that there are many young people in the US (and probably a good percentage of adults) who refer to all black people as African-American. To them, a black guy in France, Russia, Mexico or Brazil is African-American, as is the vast majority of the population of the continent of Africa.

All I can say is we are who we are, its not like any of us had a choice to be born, black or white, rich or poor or from what country, so I believe I should not be blamed for how other feel that they are being treated, I have always treated everyone the way I would want to be treated.

Let stop the finger point and look in the mirror and fix our own issues with ourselves first.
